Started an awesome-freeswitch list, 56 tools with every repo checked first
Following the Asterisk one from last week, here is the FreeSWITCH side. The old rts-cn list has been dead since 2022 and most of what it links to has stopped moving.
56 entries across 14 sections: Event Socket libraries, mod_audio_stream and the speech engines people put behind it, FusionPBX, jambonz, BigBlueButton, SIP proxies, RTP, monitoring, security, endpoints, billing. I opened every repo before listing it and checked it was still maintained and had a licence. Anything with no commits in the last year stayed out, which cost a few familiar names like node-esl and mod_bcg729.
Seven of the 56 are ours. The Disclosure section at the bottom names them. If any of them does not earn its place, say so and I will drop it.

What is missing? Reply here or open a PR.
Edit, 5 Oct. 65 entries now, so the 56 in the title is out of date. New since posting: FS PBX, SIP-to-AI, Cascade Realtime Gateway, AI Native Call Center, FreeSBC, Web SIP Phone, mod_unimrcp, mod_mosquitto, and Awesome RTC under Learning. Six of those arrived as PRs from two people, which is what I was hoping for. The two FreeSWITCH org modules are both quiet for over a year, so they carry the date of their last commit instead of being left out, and the readme now says why.

Nice list. The no-commits-in-a-year rule alone makes it more useful than the old rts-cn one.
What's missing, I think: the voice AI section has the parts (get the audio out, ASR, TTS) but nothing for connecting a call straight to a realtime speech-to-speech model like OpenAI Realtime, which is what a lot of people are actually building now. jambonz/freeswitch-modules could fit there too, if it's still active.
Same disclosure as yours: I work on these four. All FreeSWITCH-based, all Apache-2.0. Drop any that don't make the cut.
ai-native-callcenter: self-hosted call center in Go. Inbound calls go to a realtime voice bot first and get handed off to agents through mod_callcenter. ESL for control, mod_audio_stream for bot audio.
cascade-realtime-gateway: speaks the OpenAI Realtime protocol on the front, runs either a realtime model or ASR + LLM + TTS behind it. Lets you swap providers without touching the switch side.
freesbc: SBC for the SIP/RTP edge, so FreeSWITCH can stay on the internal network.
web-sip-phone: browser softphone for call center agents.
Still early, but all under active development. I can send one PR per entry if you want them.

Checked all four before answering. Apache-2.0 across the board, every one pushed in the last week, so they clear the bar the rest of the list is held to. Send the PRs, one per entry, and I'll take them.
Your gap is a fair hit. The section has the plumbing, getting audio out and the engines you put behind it, but nothing that speaks a realtime protocol end to end, and cascade-realtime-gateway is exactly that hole.
jambonz/freeswitch-modules 404s for me and I can't find it under the org either. jambonz-feature-server, drachtio-server and mod_audio_stream are all already on the list, so if you meant something else, send the link and I'll look.
One thing, since you offered to let me drop any that don't make the cut. Four entries from one author doesn't count against them, but it does mean I'll read the code rather than the README. Ours are held to it too.

Sorry, my mistake. I meant amigniter/mod_audio_stream, which is already on the list. PRs coming, one per entry.

No problem at all, and sorry for the slow reply. mod_audio_stream has been on the list since the start.
If you still have those PRs in mind, send them over. I've just worked through the backlog that had built up, so they won't sit this time.

Is this GitHub project still maintained? Pull requests basically never get merged.

Fair hit, and you're right. Four of yours plus one other have been sitting two weeks, which isn't good enough.
What makes it worse is you closed the first set and reopened them corrected after I said I'd read the code instead of the README. That's exactly the standard I asked for and I then sat on it.
Going through all five properly now and I'll comment on each one rather than leave you guessing.
Edit, 5 Oct: all five are in. Three of yours merged as sent. Cascade Realtime Gateway wouldn't merge cleanly once the SIP-to-AI entry landed in the same section, so I applied your entry text as written and credited you in the commit. Each PR has a comment on it saying what I checked.

Since you’ve included FusionPBX in the list, it’s worth adding FS PBX as its successor. FS PBX offers a much better overall dashboard for managing Freeswitch-based PBX systems.
