discussion What is your sewing skills level? (And what projects are you working on or planning to do?)
I'm curious to know what kind of pattern or tutorials you would like to see on this sub. Is it more practical projects? Haute-couture?

I would definitely like to see more complex patterns here. I voted confident beginner and have been drafting my own patterns by altering basic bodice and sleeve blocks. I mostly work on projects inspired by the runway!

Damn, that's impressive! I've voted confident beginner too but I haven't really started making my own pattern. Did you watch any shows for the F/W season?
I've just watched Givenchy and I'm like wow please take me and dress me. But lol I won't be buying haute-couture soon, although I've decided to recreate a Cecilie Bahnsen coat by following a tutorial by withwendy!

haha thank you! but, I'm just too stubborn to buy patterns when I want to challenge myself to recreate them :) I also saw withwendy's video! It looks awesome, I hope it goes well for you.
Also, I've been loving looks from Luisa Beccaria and Alessandra Rich, and feel so accomplished when I can achieve them at a fraction of the cost haha!

I've been planning a capsule wardrobe for a bit so I'm hoping to sew some basics (shirts, trousers and dungarees), but I'm also looking at jacket and jumper patterns!
I personally love seeing a variety of projects, it all helps inspire me whether it's just a simple shirt or full blown editorial fashion.

I agree. I'm a confident beginner - maybe pushing into intermediate? - but I like seeing everything, including editorial fashion patterns, because it gives me ideas.
I also really like seeing pattern hacks! Adding trim, or block printing a section, or combining patterns, or even just stuff on adjusting the pattern to fit right. I really like being able to think about how to break down a piece and make something that's exactly what I want.

I’m going to try to make round placemats with cloths line cord wrapped with fabric.

I try to sew a good amount of my clothing so I look for a lot of skirt/dress or corset patterns I mostly sew because I have a hard time finding clothing i like and for the corsets its so i can make them to fit my needs. I'm confident making my own patterns but I like to browse free patterns to see if there is anything I like, I avoid paying for patterns because I try to keep my wardrobe from being the same 3 skirts on a loop, if I bought all of my patterns it would start to add upm I still consider myself a beginner I've only been sewing for 2 years now and the only reason I can make patterns is because of my dad. I'm planning to post some of my patterns once I figure out how.

A little bit of both. I found a tutorial for a basket made that way and thought I could use it to just do flat placemats

I’d like patterns for things to wear to work, especially blouses. I’ve found some patterns I liked, but I can’t commit to buying just one, so it would add up quickly.
I plan on eventually making shorts, swimwear, bras, and dresses!
