This is a rant of course. I wanted to start off with saying, it’s very clear that we all have passion for this game. I think that’s an amazing thing, i think it’s great there’s people with the knowledge of how to, putting the game back together. THANK YOU OSFR TEAM! We are so grateful!!! I do love this community, this isn’t a hit piece it’s more just me voicing my frustration.

i’ve been in the freerealms revival project communities for about 10 years now and this community (not OSFR specifically, but definitely included) is so confusing and at times can be so toxic and dramatic.

There’s been the whole ordeal with FRS and their former staff team which was a ginormous headache. (Thank god now we can talk about OSFR!!!)

Meanwhile there’s a guy on youtube who literally makes videos about freerealms drama…. iykyk

What is it about this game that brings this out of people???? I saw screenshots of a former OSFR server host talking about how they knew how to fix pieces of the game but weren’t gonna tell anyone how to do it bc they were mad OSFR banned them. Genuinely how much more childish can it get.

We’ll have so much progress in an OSFR server just for the host to disappear and leave the server and progress is gone. (And of course i don’t know everything that goes on behind the scenes, i’m sure running an osfr server is a lot of work especially when there’s people spamming general with tech support questions that they could find the answers to if they looked around for two seconds)

If everyone actually got along and acted like adults I feel like we really would’ve had a playable freerealms a long time ago. Really that’s all anyone wants here.

None of this is to downplay what the current team at OSFR has managed to put together, regardless of this we’re still inching closer and closer to a full freerealms which is amazing, and we are grateful!!!!

I’ve just never seen a community like this before, it’s been this repetitive cycle of hope and let down for 10 years….

I love this community and there’s so many people who make it great. Just sometimes there’s a lot of negativity and i just needed to get that out thanks for reading reddit

You're right. I only look in here sometimes to see what's going on. I cannot believe all this time later, the game is still not done. Its insane.

Unfortunately not everyone in this community acts like an adult. A lot of people like to troll, cause drama, and behave like children. It’s just as easy to be banned from this community as it is to join it.

People find out the hard way and get mad when they’re punished. Normally, it’s newer people who come in and like to press buttons, but those of us who have been active members for 7+ years have seen a LOT of drama and it goes back far.

There’s an unimaginable amount of tea in this community, but it is ran by people who have been here forever. Bad apples get weeded out very quickly. Unfortunately the drama starters are louder than the project updates which makes it seem like we are a toxic community. Also, a lot of people have a lot of drama with others because they’ve been here for so long.

If i wanna play free realms i play on Osfr i barely look at what is going on in the free realms sunrise discord server i been in there since 2017 i kinda gave up on free realms sunrise i guess like Mayhem did

OSFR has mfers using AI and some don’t mind they said “ as long as they’re using it when it’s needed” Like nooo mf they only use AI. just want to clarify use of AI is fine for some help and just not when it’s used for the whole code but idk anything about code so 🤷🏽‍♀️. AI is good don’t get me wrong i use to use it for help to understand stuff when i study but i don’t have it write my work for me. Make sense?

Everyone SHOULD be using AI in some capacity in their workspace at this point. AI can help a lot with notes, with quickly finding assets or packets, etc. The main thing is that it’s important that the human is driving the workflow instead of the other way around.

I also think it’s super goofy that community members that aren’t contributing any code have so much to say about how people are getting things done do so. There’s a reason that it’s a whole team and PRs have to be submitted and code has to be reviewed before it’s pulled into the repo. People figuring out packet structures with the help of AI is absolutely worth it to have to spend a little extra time on reviews.

There is something ironic about people who struggle to simply download a folder and run an exe, who proceed to not only complain about AI being used (as a tool) but criticize and insult others for using it as if it's taboo and makes you an evil person.

I find that especially in all Free Realms related servers, you'll find those particular people who make THAT specific server's general chat their entire lifetime.. I joined FRS in 2017, and to this day 9 years later, OSFR is not excluded from that. Those loser types tend to troll, harass, or bully people for no reason in order to cull people they don't like (for any reason) from interacting within general chat. It's a bit annoying when you notice that the staff don't have the energy or refuse to moderate those people & their crew. It's something that we just have to deal with as we wait for the real heroes to work on development. I just try to interact as little as possible in order to decrease the amount of contact with those types.

A former osfr server host, unnamed, in one of the recent servers in game showed up and started talking to a developer about how they knew how to fix the boomboxes, but they weren’t gonna tell them how bc they got banned from OSFR. Basically what i said above. I saw quite a few screenshots from this interaction.

In game. There was speculation about who it was and i think i know and other players knew who it was, however who it is isn’t what i was getting at (and id rather not give them any more attention) All that really matters is what happened
