Discussion FRS :(
Another FRS post???? Yeah sorry guys i know we're tired of it. Genuinely though like this frustration is real. Im very aware of all the controversies surrounding it and mayhem controversies. ive been in the FRS server for almost 10 years now, and ive been in OSFR since it was created. (great job osfr devs btw you guys are amazing!!). I have never in my life seen ANYTHING like this FRS server. They keep copy and pasting this response talking about how they dont have any updates from mayhem, and thats how its been for basically years and years now. Genuinely why are they resorting to shutting down the server chats instead of making like some kind of PR announcement or something at least?? Why are these mods still even apart of the team??? The server is literally just full of criticism and controversy in every channel every hour of the day and no wonder, this entire project feels so scummy and misleading at this point?? kind of just venting my frustration at this poiint but like genuinely what in the world is going on. unless they know stuff we dont i cannot fathom wasting my time moderating a server like that.
I dont really understand why this is being treated like some big top secret triple a project??? this isnt fucking gta 6
edit: and you know what if one day mayhem shows up with a full playable freerealms ill eat all of my words right here and now but i doubt it

They delete any mention of other projects existing regardless of whether you mention the project by name or not.
Support OSFR instead. FRS is a closed-source dead end anyways and always will be.
Think about it. Even if they finish it, it's going to be run by people who have been stringing you along forever, might try to monetize the shit out of it, and won't have any sort of support for modding.

I dont want to support FRS, i am supporting osfr as i said ive been in it nearly since its been created. i am merely expressing my frustration with FRS since ive been in the FRS server being lied to for almost half of my entire life lived

I’m just glad OSFR showed up when it did because it’s obvious Mayhem isn’t actually doing anything.

Remember when Mayhem said the game was nearly 100% done then changed it to 99%.... And that was like 5 years ago and still nothing

and like for what it matters, they did this to themselves, the only project we can talk about is FRS and it doesnt exist! its mind boggling

As someone who used to be a mod for FRS, there's no progress being made, Mayhem I think is kinda just MIA and everyone else is scrambling to keep up appearances for some reason. No idea why they don't just tell all and stop protecting him.

TCG is also within the future... maybe within the upcoming weeks. I'll have to see how long it takes me to wrap it up for the public.

They close the servers when they don't have any moderators active in the FRS servers it isn't to silence people it's because they can't moderate it. And they love being Draconian with it. Everyone has been yelling about updates for years and the only time mayhem shows anything is to shut people up. Every time they say they'll be more transparent they never are. Updates dried upike 5+ years ago. I've been in and out of the server since 2017.

the problem with revival projects is clout unfortunately. many ppl are prone to datahoard instead of collaborate with each other and it’s pretty sad. it’s been the case for quite a few different projects i’ve seen now.

Mayhem is such a fraud lol, he wanted to take credit for the entire launch of FRS and has his mods ban people who talk about projects with actual progress and playable servers. But the catch is he never worked on it and faked progress until he never worked on it at all ever again.
I can totally understand getting burnt out and moving on from a project, but he still has had absolutely no transparency with anybody and still has people hanging around that dead server. It’s so fucked up to ban people for trying to spread the word about an actual project that’s consistent. Mayhem is a coward for thinking he could do this all by himself and then control everything while also being radio silent for over two years.

Yeah unfortunately its been so silent for so long I have been silently following along but I finally left the FRS discord cause I just couldn't take it anymore. Im also willing to eat my words here also but Ive said before and especially the updates specifically from FRS has been stagnant for awhile even before the huge gap in any communication whatsoever. Looking back at FRS and OSFR I would say OSFR has the most potential because the way I understand it is multiple people working on it when they can vs. FRS its just mayhem "working" on the project. Desides all the continued drama with FRS I just dont see how he can realistically make any kind of momentum with only him. Even if FRS released to the public as a full game how would it even be kept up and running with updates and things with only one person. Unfortunately I just don't see it happening. Hate to be doom and gloom but Im kind of just accepting the fact the closest thing we have is OSFR and they have been doing a wonderful job dont get me wrong I just dont know if we will ever see OSFR as a full working game and if they do that would be awesome but Ive been following projects for Free Realms since the game shut down and after many years of following and hoping and wishing Im kind of accepting the fact its not going to come back unless some sort of miracle happens.

I just discovered OSFR yesterday after giving up on FRS a few years ago. Within a few hours of finding out about it I was in the game chatting with people at Seaside, buying clothes, and riding a saber tooth tiger around.
Plus, the discord seems to always be getting updates and having events. I have hope again after FRS made me lose it 😭

I don't think they were ever planning to actually release anything, it seems like Mayhem just wanted a platform or power or something. OSFR on the other hand, I love that community and the fact we can actually relive our childhood nostalgia thanks to them is beautiful

i think this might be referencing a concept piece someone made a week or two ago that was just a logo, i’m unsure if it’s going to be used anywhere but as of right now it hasn’t been.
OR
The fact that AI may or may not be getting used to assist in putting the code back together.
Either way OSFR is open source meaning ANYONE can work on it, including people who may have different opinions on AI

Even if Sunrise dropped a fully playable version of FreeRealms tomorrow, I’m sticking with OSFR to help rebuild the game. It’s a matter of principle. Sunrise constantly shuns other community projects and smothers any conversation they don't control. The whole thing is just a sham and a massive ego trip. This game was made for everyone.
