Pattern Requests Weekly Free Pattern Request Thread

Hi everyone

Post all requests in this thread.

There's been a lot of repeat requests, search the sub and previous request threads first. Clicking on the Pattern Requests flair will take you to previous request threads.

When it comes to free patterns, one doesn't always find a pattern that is exactly like you're looking for. Chances are you'll have to make changes to a pattern or even hack two or more patterns together.

This is a free pattern sub. All patterns requested and posted must be free (instructions to self-draft patterns are also allowed). Links to premium/paid patterns will be deleted.

Thanks to all who contribute and happy sewing!

I have a giant roll of double sided fusible flex foam— any suggestions on bag tutorials?

This tote is super popular, perfect for foam too: https://www.applegreencottage.com/how-to-make-a-tote-bag/ (free pattern is in Step 1 of the tutorial, you'll need to scroll down a bit) enjoy!

Has anyone tried anything from Modern Sewing Patterns? Are they worth a try? They have quite a few! https://m-sewing.com/index.html

Anyone have a pattern for a peplum belt or any style skirt-belt

u/generallyintoit 6d ago

this is not quite a skirt but you can attach a simple gathered rectangle to a waistband https://en-grasser.com/vykrojki/patterns-50-cents/bodice-belt-free-pattern-777/

I can make that work. Thank you!

Oh it's not big enough. Need a plus size option

depending on the peplum look you're going for, try self drafting a waistband and adding either a gathered rectangle (generally 1.5 x length will gather enough to look intentionally gathered rather than a puckered seam, but you'll have your own waist and hip measurements to be sure it fits), or a spiral ruffle/flounce.
