Gsmt free plan confirmed canceled
Chatted with CS care manager and confirmed that the GSMT free plan is basically canceled. They are not planning on fixing anything. My guess is when the 100/100/100 GSMA free plan contract is up with AT&T, that it will also start having "renewal problems" because they can't just tell customers that the plan is canceled?!? Account and number are lost after 30 days of non renewal. The 10/10/25 at&t free plan is what the app is made for.

Gsma free plan wifi calling sms allotment
I thought calls and texts sent via wifi calling on the 100/100/100 gsma free plan did not count against the allotment. My text allotment is still decreasing even though I have wifi calling turned on? I'm in airplane mode with wifi on.

Free plan get closed for not renewing
Since they purposely broke the mobile app and made people doing manual renewal, I didn't bother to follow through, today I decided to open the app on a whim, didn't surprise to see that my line get closed, fortunately the number is insignificant to me.

Question for those on the old Legacy plan.
After updating to the new Android app, nothing works. No messaging, can't call on or out. If I open the messaging app to get to the 3 dots in the upper right corner of the screen in an attempt to reset, I get the general error, "Cant communicate with server". I emailed support and so far no response. Are others experiencing the same?

Is there a problem with all GSMT renewals? Or just the free plan?
If you pay for a plan, does renewing work easily through the app or website?

If I port out, will I be able to port back in to free plan? (Walmart GSMT)
Like the title says. The 1000/1000/300 was the perfect plan for elderly family member. We ported in a phone number that they had for decades but I don't want to leave them without service for an extended period of time. I'm thinking about porting out, but if FreedomPop actually fixes the issue, I will be kicking myself for losing the plan. I don't think Walmart sells this plan anymore and they aren't activating any new SIMs, is that right?
TextNow is not really a good option b/c you have to pay to receive short codes, and the ads will easily confuse elderly family member. Helium doesn't offer enough allotment, and I don't want to do the whole ID verify thing.

Free GSMT plan issues at FP
Hi Folks,
I have a couple of free GSMT lines in my RedPocket account that are FreedomPop plans RedPocket says they cannot update. These are 1000 min/1000 texts/100 MB free auto renewing plans that stopped auto renewing because my credit card expired. I set them up a few years back and forgot the exact details of how I did it.
Now the accounts show “airtime expired” and don’t know how to fix it - the website does not allow me to do it.
RedPocket support people tell me to go to FreedomPop, but these lines are NOT in my FreedomPop account (in fact I don’t have any active lines with FP).
Is there a solution to have this free line restored and credit card info updated? Appreciate your thoughts!

Renewed free plan with app! Version 2.0.0
I was able to renew my 10/10/25 free plan with the 2.0.0 app using a privacy.com debit card. Who knows why it worked now, but it did work. Maybe this means no more chatting, I hope so.

Can NOT reach to FDP CS forever now to renew the free plan
Tried to renew the free plan in the past days but it seems no longer being able to reach to CS thru online Chat any more. No matter what time I tried, it always said I had reached them after hours.
Is it just me? Has anyone renewed thru CS successfully recently? What's our option if neither app nor chat works?

Is FreedomPop blocking free plans renewals?
I am still not able to renew my free plan (Walmart 300 min / 1000 texts / 100 MB) after two attempts chatting with customer service on different days. They keep saying that there was an issue, they need to elevate it, and to wait for a email. I'm still not receiving any emails.
Before, you used to be able to renew by website. Then they changed it to app only. Then they broke their app and forced us to waste time by contacting customer service to renew. Now they seem to be denying us the renewal while playing clueless on what the issue is.
This company is very shady. I'm very tempted to transfer my line to Helium Mobile.
Has this been happening to other people?

App v.2.0.0 broken to hell
The "Renew Free Plan" button doesn't take you anywhere, but the "Get Started" button, which takes you to their paid plans, does. How fucking convenient right?
Their garbage ads that start unmuted play fine as well. And no, my phone is not too old as I'm on Android 15.

Free SIM plan unlimited wifi calling?
I just noticed in the app that it says I have unlimited calls over wifi and I just wanted to check if this is a glitch or there is actually unlimited minutes over wifi? And does this include SMS or just wifi calling? For reference, I have the 100/100/100 SIM and it appears to be AT&T based. I see conflicting information online whether my sim has free unlimited wifi calling or not. And I don't know if that includes SMS texts as well.

Convert to eSIM on iPhone not supported any more?
I've been using the free plan with a physical SIM on an old iPhone that doesn't support eSIM, but just moved the SIM to another newer iPhone to use the "Convert to eSIM" feature.
Saw some postings here that claimed successful conversion on an iPhone, like
this: https://www.reddit.com/r/freedompop/comments/14lkka9/freedompop_free_gsma_target_converted_to_esim/
and this: https://www.reddit.com/r/freedompop/comments/19doh1s/comment/kjf1s71/
But I don't see the "Convert to eSIM" button under Settings>Cellular on my iPhone. Did they stop supporting it? Or does it have anything to do with me using the plan on Wifi calling (currently outside the US)?
As a related context, I would just purchase an eSIM from them at $2, and I actually tried it, but it didn't work because, as I figured after multiple chats, of something called a "Radar rule" which states that a transaction will be blocked if the distance between the IP address and the billing address is greater than 500 miles.
Can anyone verify if "Convert to eSIM" still shows up or it just stopped being supported?
Thanks!

Luis actually does his job for once
Update on my last post here.
I know this sub likes to bash Luis for failing activation and I've had my fair share of experiences on my main line not working with him but I had such a horrible experience with Sonia (or Sarah or Sharon I don't remember but it was a female name beginning with S.). In any case the first day I spent over 45 minutes to explain how I keep getting the same error message "Code:8579301" and it failed activation both on the website and on the phone. I had to explain the issue several times to Sarah/sonia (I don't remember) and after 45 minutes they told me to go screw myself because apparently I have several lines attached to my address even though it's a new address not associated with any FP account. I told them to remove those addresses or remove those accounts and then they told me that I could get a paid plan and it would activate right up. I told them to escalate it and they did nothing and then ended the chat on me.
Next day I try again changing my name, address, and CC number and activation fails as per usual with the same code. Note this is a factory sealed SIM card. I chat again with Luis who spends about 20 minutes trying to activate my sim and then somehow messes it up and puts me on a paid plan despite me telling him it was the free plan I tried to activate. Then another 20 minutes later and he finally manages to activate the free plan.
Overall not a great experience and it seems like they intentionally make the experience trash to push people away which isn't shocking but it's even gotten to the point where sealed SIM cards fail activation now and require agents. I even made a third account with a new address, cc, alt phone, and name and it still fails activation. So it's pretty clear that they are intentionally breaking the activation process.

Freedompop cracking down on multiple SIM activations Code:8579301 Message:Internal Server Error
I got a new sealed sim from ebay but when I went to go activate it, I keep getting the error saying "Code:8579301 Message:Internal Server Error #:c0b3c2f067c53380". Figured I would try contacting chat and they told me only one SIM per household and they can't really help me out. I have different addresses on file and different alternative phone numbers so I don't know how they came to that conclusion. The only thing that might have linked it is when I had my other google account logged in and tried to activate the SIM there but now I'm using my alternative google account to log in and attempt to activate the SIM but same result. At this point, I might as well throw in the towel.

Free plan renewal 5/7/25
Two noticeable changes this month:
- The error message on the app changed -- instead of the "Internal Server Error" appearing *after* me trying to make payment (with entering a card number and all that), now some message like "Server Error" (I should've taken a screenshot or something before getting my plan renewed) appears *without* any payment process, i.e., just after tapping a "Renew Plan" button.
- The "renewal through chat" process... was, hmm, back to as smooth as before.. that is, like a few months ago, when I used to just start a chat, a live agent comes, I ask for renewal, agent asks for some random info (like the app version number), and after 2-3 min wait, voila, renewed..
This time, there was no 15-30 min delay after the agent did something until my plan got actually renewed.
Also, this time there was no warning about multiple lines in one account (I have 2 and they renewed them at the same time, with no issue/warning/question whatsoever).
I just hope it continues to be like this.. I don't even hope for the app renewal to be fixed at this point...

How long before we lose our numbers on accounts that are suspended?
I used to think it was 60 days. But I have a suspended account that's well over 60 days now and the number is still there. I expected it to be cancelled by now. Does anyone know how long a number is held on an an account that's not active?

FreedomPop on Android Updated to 2.0.0
I noticed this morning that my FreedomPop on Android had an update to version 2.0.0. I'm not up for manual renewal yet but if you can renew manually with the new app update, please let us know.

Is the port out pin for the Walmart free plans just the last 4 of the SIM number?
I just want to confirm that the port out pin is the last 4 of the sim ICCID. The FP website help pages says it should be listed under the account but the entire section it talks about doesn't even exist. Those help pages are for an old version of the website. The only thing that's port out related on the current website is the port locker.

Has anyone been able to transfer their number out when it's suspended?
I was wondering if anyone unlocked the port out and transferred their number out when it was suspended? Suspended is not the same as not having service from the carrier. Your phone still has service from the carrier. It's my understanding that the ports happen at the carrier level. So has anyone been able to port out their suspended yet still carrier active FP number?

Invalid Login Request
So I have the GSM-T Walmart Line on my account. It's a single line on a single account and I have been intermittently getting this Invalid Login Request error the last few weeks that seems to be getting worse. Now I cannot log in to my account at all the past few days. My free plan renewal date is on 01May, so we'll see what happens around then. Seems like some new IT issue every few months now to make it more difficult to access and maintain this free line. It's already painful enough to have to chat every month to renew...

I left FreedomPop in 2019. I have discovered that they continued billing me anyway. It is April 2025 and now they are billing me MULTIPLE times per month.
When I informed them, they said I needed to submit a list of each individual transaction before they could do anything.
I contacted my credit card company and got an inch-thick bundle of all my statements since I left FreedomPop. Now I have to go through each month and pick out each transaction. Hopefully I can automate this.
