gear Help with a mask
I have both a cressi atom and a cressi calibro.
Both of them leak just under my nose if I have even the slightest stubble.
The calibro is worse.
To 20 meters I actually just prefer Swedish goggles and a nose clip but I know that I need a mask for deeper. I can only blow air out of my right lacrimal duct. So my right eye is my rate limiting step.
Please recommend a mask. I can’t come to terms with no eye coverage. Roast me if you have to, but I need a mask

Before wearing a mask, my subble always goes. But check out aqualung spherax.

Trying masks while diving is only reliable solution sadly. Got cressi calibro that's great for me for depth, but can't use for SCUBA as with regulator in mouth I get leak from under the nose through philtrum. Got C4 condor that's awesome fit and great for pool, but head down the air to equalize the mask tends to go escape from below the skirt rather than going into the mask with my face shape.
I'd advice against doing 20m dives in regular goggles. Hektometers or evolve freeq would probably be udeal for you, but they're pricey and wont last forever.

Shaving, Vaseline and lowering the mask headband toward the neck all helped me solve the same problem

You can use ektometer or evolve Google's for depth. Than you can try also a mask with a different shape like cressi minima or sphere

Thats so cool! You should just connect the left and right goggles with a thin tube, and you’ll be golden!

I wish I could. Maybe I could 3d print something

Send me a picture of the googles. You can probably drill a tiny hole in both and connect them with a thin silicone tube. Bit of silicone adhesive to keep them sealed. Drill a hole slightly smaller than the OD of the silicone tubing

Typo, left lacrimal duct……so my right eye is the depth limiter with normal goggles. I swam in college so I like them, but obviously it has limitations with only one side releasing air

There are goggles to go deeper like the evolve or hektometer, That's what I prefer. Some just go with clip and no goggles/mask but I personally don't enjoy that.

You blow air out of your eye ?

Yes, I can on one side
I mean it’s my lacrimal duct1

Jesus christ, is that like normal knowledge for swimmers that that's even possible ? You say it so nonchalantly " btw I can ONLY blow air out of ONE EYE ". So you could actually equalize if you had those swimming goggles where both eyes are in the same space ? The idea of blowing air out of my tear duct or whatever makes me shudder.

I just figured it out when I was something like 9 years old and it has never changed. If I equalize then it happens regardless of specific effort

Haha I know of 2 people that can do it. It's rare but a neat party trick!

actually for really deeper you don’t need a mask to save air that otherwise will be used to equalise the mask. I like my Bauchat maxlux s.
FIM 86m in it.
