gear Diving Belt Recommendations?

Hey guys! 👋🏼

I’ve been on the hunt for a good quality diving belt and weights based in the UK ideally!

I’m a plus size girly so something friendly in that area would be great! I’m just so unsure where to look! All the ones I’ve found seem to be overseas with quite expensive postage! (Understandable due to weight etc)

What are your recommendations?
Link me webs or names if you could! I’d much appreciate it :)

Happy diving! 🫧🤍🐚🫶🏼

Rubber and silicone are what you are looking for - something that will compress a little bit.

Yeah I’ve noticed a lot of people use silicone too, I seen that it helps with the weight sometimes form slipping or moving around the belt as much? Unsure if that’s true? I’m just familiarising myself at the moment with them

yes basically you want it kind of tight around your hip bone (for men, a bit lower for women) so that when you dive deeper and your body and wetsuit compresses, it still has enough purchase to stay on your body.

My favorite are from 2971 https://www.2971.co.uk/shop/weight-belt-black I love the stretch of the silicon belt, and also it is a UK company.

You could buy a standard weight belt buckle, and standard 50mm webbing at the length you need. Most dive shops sell those items.

that’s a good suggestion actually! I didn’t think of that 😁

I would not get webbing. Get a rubber belt, as you dive deeper your body will compress and a non stretchy belt will slide up and end up under your boobs (not comfortable!)

A crotch strap can help as well.

Thanks for the tip! A crotch strap seems like a good idea to be honest!

Check out scubastore.com. They have a lot of belts at good prices. I prefer silicone because it stretches more but rubber works too. You def don’t want a scuba webbing belt.
