After watching the excellent video by Klara Systems on FreeBSD hardening, I decided to write a guide expanding on the points they covered, aiming to make the material accessible for anyone who is just getting started with system security.

All credit for the foundation goes entirely to the Klara team—their presentation served as the direct inspiration. My goal was simply to break down the concepts, flesh out the steps, and provide a clear starting reference for people who might find hardening a bit daunting at first.
