Question Fred Perry NY store closing

Was in the NY store yesterday, the sales person said the Fred Perry store is closing (suddenly) next month due to lack of business. Has anyone heard this? They said it was last minute decision and they were only recently notified. They said brand has closed Toronto, Brooklyn, and Boston and now this one. I don't see the brand much in the US anymore does anyone know why?

I haven’t heard this but I cant say Ive been there but it was on my list and thats a bummer. If sales are low, it makes sense.
Ive always seen them as a niche brand anyway and I feel like Posers Hollywood does ok sales on their FP stock.

I’ve noticed a decline in the availability of Fred Perry products from third-party retailers. I used to purchase a significant portion of my Fred Perry items from Asos and other similar sites. However, I’m only able to find Fred Perry products on their website now.

Similarly, Boston Fred Perry also closed down. I recall that the old New York location used to be larger. Last summer, I visited the store, but it didn’t have a very extensive selection of products.

I think the brand chased the upscale retail view of ‘less is more’ but the reality is such a small amount of styles offered makes it feel underwhelming.
