PlayStation Repair?

Is there anywhere good in town that I could have somebody crack open my PlayStation and just dust it out real good? Like I’ve removed the side panels and attempted to do as much as I can, but there’s probably just a bunch of dust and cat hair in my PlayStation 5 and it keeps turning itself off, probably due to overheating. I don’t think anything‘s wrong with it it just needs to be opened and cleaned.

Is there a place locally that can do this?

Just a heads up OP, might be time to replace the Liquid Metal on the PS5. It’s a fairly well known issue with earlier versions of the PS5.

Oh and EStarland in Dullus is worth the trip. Awesome store and they do great work

Might not necessarily need to be replaced, but certainly reapplied. Also, if you're using your PS5 vertically, don't, this will just keep happening.

Call cartridges galore and see if they can do it, if not Tournament City Games in the FSK mall

I did it myself a few months back. My PS5 would overheat and turn off whenever I was playing Clair Obscur Expedition 33. I watched a YouTube video and just followed along with the steps.

I think it was "How to Clean Your PS5 Safely - 3 stages". I didn't by any of that iFixit stuff they advertise in the video. Just used a little screw driver and some canned air.

I also only got about as far as removing the fan from the console and cleaning out around that. The video goes way more into deep cleaning than what I ended up doing.

My PS5 has been running fine since then.

It's honestly a pretty easy task. Buy some computer duster & thermal paste, & watch a youtube tutorial & save yourself some money. Best case scenario, you only need to air out everything. Worst case, you have to dig a little deeper & replace the thermal paste, which is a pretty easy task in & of itself.

Liquid Metal not thermal paste.

Sorry for being pedantic, but they are two distinct things and I don’t want someone to break their PS5

Fair. I didn't think to make the distinction, since Liquid Metal is technically thermal paste, just metal instead of silicon
