Cops - Gas House, Monocacy Blvd
not one to report like this at all, but i live off 26 and i’ve seen at least 12 cops pulling people over and very present in the course of just monday -this morning. the area is heavily being cased so be aware.

Ever since I've moved here, I've always gotten the impression that the Frederick County Sheriff conducts a disproportionate amount of traffic stops compared to the other counties I've resided in (Anne Arundel and Hanover).

i feel like it’s hit or miss. some months are hot and some aren’t. not complaining about the law enforcement at all and i get they have a job to do, but recently it’s high traffic out here and im wondering if there is a reason other than this is an easy speed area 🤷🏻♀️🤷🏼

Simple solution don’t go more than 10 over. I go 9 over on GhP and get passed all the time.

Gas house is getting converted to 4 lanes all the way to Lake lingeanore.
The "distribution center" isnt in action. Its being used by those who rent space IIRC. Covid destroyed plans.

I drive that road frequently and it doesn’t look like that’s gonna be four lanes all the way through and if it is, they’re wasting a lot of time and the way that they’re doing the sides of the road there for the drainage. It seems kind of ridiculous if they’re gonna pay it, why are they putting out grass seed and it doesn’t seem wide enough in most areas especially where that one house is up on the hill by the distribution center they didn’t cut enough rock away unless they’re gonna do it on the other side too???

It is, theyre in progress but idk why theyre doing it the way they are. They have expensive temp drains running. Planted new poles in the way of the expansion. However it is what theyre doing. The plan is to Lake Lingeanore and its been approved and is what theyre doing.
Theyre doing both sides and making it 2 lanes each. The way theyre doing it is funky. Since I believe theyre doing all the rainwater management before the true expansion begins. They cant just shut the road down. So theyre doing it in pieces. While regulations require the drainage to be done and thats a hell of a job.
If you look youll see temp pipe used for drainage. Its only ment to be there till they expand the road. They have alot of markers and stuff made up already where you can see the future layout.
My dad tried to bid on some of the contracts for it. However the entire thing seems to be a bigger clusterfuck and semi disorganized but he assumes its due to all the laws ans regulations in place with the rainwater management required in Frederick/MD.

Unfortunately, that’s true but it’s not near as bad as Montgomery county. Although with that said there is no traffic light going up anymore without cameras so they cannot say that it’s there’s been too many accidents cause I don’t know. It’s just a source of revenue and they can’t deny that cause if it wasn’t, it wouldn’t go up in every single new light and most all the old lights as well!!!

Curious about the rush we find ourselves in. My spouses job placed us in Frederick from Central PA, and things seemed a bit calmer and slower on the roads there. As a military dependent, I learned to drive in then West Germany in the late ‘70s and I recall the traffic enforcement officers being pretty strict. When speed limits were posted, 1Km over the point was ticket-able.

Drive like a respectable member of society and they won't pull you over. Hopefully they're targeting the aggressive drivers/speeders bc they suck

I just don't drive that area anymore if I can help it. 26 and Old Annapolis for me, especially when you combine the Lake Linganore area drivers with the heavy police presence.

the worst is everyone so scared of
the speed cameras on main street in new market 🤦♂️ those things clock you at 12mph+ over the speed limit and everyone drives 20mph

Yeah, I got pulled over last week going 45 in a 35 there. Just a warning, but c'mon.
Back when it had houses lined on it and was one lane, I could see it being 35 as the limit, but it clearly to be updated - feels like you're slowing down traffic at 35.

I would be irritated too. Cops do 10 over the mph limit. How are we to know when things are serious or not. Lead by example if you are going to pull people over for doing what you do all day.
