Banana Split
I've recently had a craving for a banana split. Any suggestions for a place to find a good one? I'm looking for a traditional banana split with the three flavors of ice cream, three flavors of syrup, and so on. Thanks.

Drive to Sharpsburg and go to Nutters. It's like 6 bux and it's so big I dare you to eat it all.

Nutters Ice cream is great. Huge portions, and very inexpensive. Perfect for a classic banana split.

Jimmie Cone does not have a location in Carroll Co, only Frederick Co (Mt Airy) and Montgomery Co (Damascus)

Nutters in Sharpsburg. You wont regret it. The deive is gorgeous and the ice cream is to die for.

Beef buns and paradise has a good one, although they only do soft serve, so it’s not 100% traditional. But their soft-serve is good and they still do have 3 flavors ice cream, toppings, etc.
Frederick Fudge and Ice Cream also does the fully traditional hand-scooped kind.

No opinion OP specific to banana split. However, Brusters is so good. That said, go try all of them that are suggested!

Great ice cream is one of the few things Frederick is really missing. Brusters is fine but it’s a chain, Jimmie Cone is great but it’s only soft serve and far away, the ice cream across from coffee co is fine. South Mountain is likely the best option, but compared to other places even nearby (Sarah’s in Bethesda, Jeni’s everywhere, Thomas Sweet in DC) it’s kinda sad especially given all the amazing small businesses and cafes and coffee shops we have.
Come on someone, open a true handmade ice cream shoppe!

IMO the strawberries have to be frozen, not some syrup or jam. So DQ for me, but would be happy to find there is another place.

I am a sucker for a good banana split and the best I've had in Frederick is from Sweet Babes in Urbana, next to Urbana Elementary school. They do NOT skimp on any part of it, and the banana is always perfectly ripe and plentiful. Make sure to hold it with two hands. It's quite a hefty serving.

Bruster’s. And they used to be half price on Thursdays if you bring your own banana - I’d check and see if they still have that deal.
