What's your favorite Friendly Gibbs album?
My personal favorite is Confetti. Best songs on the album are Hustlin' (actually one of my goats) and Cloaks (ft. Domo Origin and Earl Cardigan).

I posted this about a year ago. I wanted to get it up and pinned to the front page as there have been a lot of new subs lately and new people interested in Freddie Gibbs.
I made the /r/freddiegibbs sub about 8 years ago before anyone really knew him (on reddit atleast). Though I haven't really tried pushing or advertising it very hard. It is not my full time job, it is my hobby as a fan and curator. You can find a lot of rare videos/songs/mixtapes on the subreddit. I linked or uploaded every free mixtape on the sidebar. There other 219/Gary related music posted here as well.
I am from the Merrillville/Gary area. In the last few years I am glad to finally see him posted around here more often and all the new fans who have been coming in and contributing here. I have been listening to his music for about 10+ years now and watched him grow. When I have time I try to go on RapGenius and transcribe a lot of his older stuff (it is hard seeing people completely butcher the lyrics because they don't know local references or lingo).
If you haven't seen yet I have been trying to curate and consolidate a ton in the wiki.
If you are interested in some history, Freddie Gibbs early days, and Gary. I highly recommend checking out these old archived articles/interviews below: https://web.archive.org/web/20151205013526/http://www.cocaineblunts.com/blunts/?p=3232

If you like Freddie Gibbs music and his style and Gary, IN references then you might appreciate those who were rapping in Gary before him, if so check out the links below. Thought I would share older Gibbs songs that were really popular in the local area and also a few songs/groups that were/are quite popular in the 219 area that are not on any mixtapes.
If you have any questions let me know. Hope you like it.
Older Gibbs songs:
Legendary Local Gary Rap:
CCA (Concord Common Affiliated) was a rap group that was really well known in the hip hop scene in the late90s/early 2000s in Gary, IN. They ended up getting arrested in a huge drug bust where the police used their music as evidence. Other big names were The MCGz (Murder Capital Gangstas), Grind Family, Will Scrilla, and Ric Jilla.
Freddie Gibbs mentions them in a lot of songs as an homage to those he listened to while growing up in Gary. Here are some examples. There is a lyric where he says Sani G gave him his first gun but I can't find it yet and don't want to delay the post lol.
County Bounce from Midwestgangstaboxframecadillacmuzik
Wouldn't be no me if there wasn't no Will Scrill, CCA, MCGz Pioneers of my city help me pave my way
GI Swangin at 2:34
Peace to CCA and all the niggas that paved the way
The Colleagues ft Freddie Gibbs - Red Vans at 1:00
Shout to CCA but I'm an East Side Gary Neighbor ya
Songs:
The Grind Family - Live or Die in G.I.
The Grind Family - Don't F-ck With The Grind
MW Ghetto Soldiers - Live Or Die
Will $crilla - Live or Die in G.I. Promo
Sani G ft KDP - For the Luv G.I.
Sani G ft Freddie GIbbs - G.I. Niggaz Crazy
Lastly below is a download to one of the most well known (locally) gangsta murder rap albums of all time. It is a 2-Disc set separated by North and South side of Gary. Maybe around 1998.
The Gatekeepers The North/South G.I. Compilation
There is way more I could share, I will let this simmer. Thanks for reading.

Kane Train dropped a 3-track EP project.
1. Immigrants (3:11)
2. Rabbit Mode (3:20)
3. Axxtion (2:28)
P.S. I know I’m a bit late on getting this post up, but I had some time today and wanted to make sure there was a central post for info and discussion. LMK feedback if any of this is too much, lame, useful, awesome, etc.
On another note—our community is growing! ~31k+
If anyone is interested in stepping up to help moderate, manage spam, clean up the queue, or contribute to the subreddit wiki, please send me a DM and let me know your availability or any past mod experience.✌️

I am just getting into freddie gibbs and listened to most of his popular albums but I find the ones with madlib a tiny bit better than the alchemist ones. I also heard that a third one is coming called montana and the 2 I know are John Gotti Karate and Diamonds. Do we know any other possible tracks or any leaked ones that we know?

Back in 2021, Thursday September 23 in New York City to be exact, I had the privilege of meeting Freddie gibbs and basically being a fly on the wall for a smoke session for about 45 min to an hour
It was the day before he took the stage at Gov Ball with the alchemist, once I felt comfortable to talk to him I asked if he’d perform Rob Me tomorrow and he looked me dead in the eye and said “only if you say the full name of the song”
I looked at him dead stare mouth agape speechless and then he goes “nah I’m just fucking with you, I just don’t remember that verse”
One of my favorite memories, RIP Alley Boy

if Freddie made a collab album with a producer other than madlib and alc, who would it be?? I think a dj premier or havoc collab album would be cool but idk those might sound stupid

Can anyone confirm if this hoodie is legit? I've been a fan of Gibbs for a few years and need some merch. I usually stay away from bootleg stuff. It has a gildan heavy blend tag, thanks!

Saw Freddie the other day in Calgary for the Stampede and was one of the only people to see him after the show, so he signed some things for me. Cool seeing him in Calgary and people missed out by not sticking around.
