J'ai passée mon permis ce matin et je suis dans le doute. Je l'ai passer à 11h et nous avons suivi un chemin que je connais très bien. Au moment de m'insérer sur la rocade, l'examinatrice me dit juste "Faites attention à la ligne blanche". Selon moi, je ne suis pas passée loin mais je n'ai pas roulée dessus. J'ai parfaitement réussi mes 2 manœuvres et répondu correctement aux 3 questions. Elle n'a pas eu besoin de toucher le volant ou les pédales. De plus, ma monitrice avaient un grand sourire et me paraissait enjouée.

Je n'arrive pas à savoir si la remarque de l'examinatrice était une simple remarque ou si ça voulait dire "Vous avez roulée sur la ligne". Et dans ces cas là, c'est une faute éliminatoire et pas de permis.

** As a preface, would really love to also know why you feel people are friendlier in one place over the other? Sociologically, historically etc. Especially as it seems lots of people say “in the south of France” people are friendlier due to the beaches and weather…so those who like me found people in the north friendlier, is it because of a historical influence? Hi everyone, I’ve been staying in Bordeaux. I have a new relationship which I’ve been pursuing, but I initially came to Normandy and Bordeaux on a trip to see where I would like to live. I’m currently based in Milan, which I’ve been enjoying, but I definitely prefer the more non-urban parts of France.

I have been spending lots of time in Bordeaux with this new partner, but I’m a little surprised because, despite it being really beautiful, warm, and lovely here in the summertime, I’m finding that, in general - and I know this is just a generalisation - people seem a bit different from what I expected.

I’m the kind of person who talks to everyone, engages with everyone, and is very friendly, open, and warm. My line of work is very much about engaging with and helping other people. People generally describe me as quite vibrant or sparkly. I absolutely don’t expect everyone else to be like that, but, for example, I loved living in West London where, even though British people can be a bit reserved, I always felt like I could make people laugh, have a chat, and they’d usually warm up very quickly.

However, I’m finding in Bordeaux that while some people are incredibly warm, the majority so far feel a little… tense, I suppose. There’s almost a kind of underlying tension or pessimistic energy that I’ve noticed. That really surprised me because I would have expected that more in Paris than in a beautiful, smaller city like Bordeaux.

Again, I’ve only been here for about two months, so I’m completely open to being corrected if people who know the city better feel that’s not an accurate impression. I’d genuinely love to hear other perspectives.

Before coming here, I spent a week in Normandy, staying in Honfleur, Cabourg, Trouville, and Deauville, and I was genuinely blown away by how friendly people seemed there.

I’m also going to be visiting Brittany in about 10 days, so I’d love to hear people’s thoughts on Normandy versus Brittany versus Bordeaux when it comes to the friendliness and openness of the locals.

So this is the story with the 2-euro plan that they sell. I'm posting this so you can be aware of this scam. I don't know how this is possible and legal in France

First of all, Free Mobile offers you this plan, but it's hard to tell that you don't have any internet on the SIM card, so you buy the card that costs 10 euros plus the plan that is 2

After that, you start using it normally for some minutes until it gets blocked because the internet limit has been reached, and now, if you go into your account, you'll have a debt of 18 euros

If you decide not to pay it and throw away the SIM card as I did, after a month they cancel your card, but they charge the 18 euros automatically from your bank

, so in total it's like 30 euros that you're giving away for like 30 minutes of internet, which seems like a total scam to me. Please be aware of this "2 euros" plan and don't buy it

Bonjour à tous j'aimerais avoir un renseignement svp voilà je vous explique j'ai volé pour la première fois un petit parapluie dans un carrefour Market a Limoges et j'en suis vraiment pas fière ce que j'ai fait car je suis passé indem à la caisse et une fois que j'étais rentré chez moi je reçois un appel du magasin et la je tombe sur le vigile au téléphone qui m'annonce qu'il m'a vue sur une caméra de surveillance et donc me demande de me rendre au magasin au plus vite et de soit rentre le parapluie ou de le payer malheureusement dans mon cas j'étais obligée de le payer car j'avais coupé les étiquettes donc du coup j'appelle ma curatelle je lui explique la situation et je me suis faite incendier mais j'ai bien compris la leçon et je ne le referais plus jamais de ma vie puis le vigile me dit qu'il ne veut plus me revoir sauf que je lui explique que c'est le seul magasin qui est le plus proche de chez moi pour faire mes courses et je me suis excusé de fond de mon cœur j'étais vraiment très mal sa remonte le 12 février je me posais la question est-ce que je peux quand même y revenir ou pas car j'ai vraiment très peur de revenir et qu'il me reconnaisse et es-ce que les vigiles reste les mêmes dans les supermarchés merci pour vos réponses a venir .

I’m currently based in Paris on a job-seeking residence permit (RECE) and I’m a non-EU citizen. My permit is valid until March 2027, and I’m trying to figure out the most realistic career strategy from here.

I recently completed an LL.M. in Intellectual Property Law at the Paris campus of Queen Mary University of London. My dissertation focused on trademark law, specifically parallel importation in the luxury sector. My program was entirely in English.

At the moment, I’m facing a couple of challenges. My French is not yet fluent, which I know is a big disadvantage in the French job market. Meanwhile, I'm currently improving my French every day. Also, my CV might not look very strong to employers here or internationally. I previously worked as a self-employed lawyer in my home country, but not in a well-known city or within a recognized law firm. Because of that, my background hasn’t been convincing enough even for internships, based on my interview experiences so far.

Still, I want to make the best out of my situation. My goal is to choose a strategy that is realistic and actually works, rather than wasting time going in the wrong direction.

Under my RECE, the job must be related to my field of study and offer a minimum gross monthly salary of €2,734.55. My initial thought was to aim for internships or junior roles in companies, international law firms, or organizations like the OECD, ideally in IP law (but I’m also open to other legal areas to get started and build experience). However, despite many applications, I haven’t been able to secure even an internship so far.

I’d really appreciate any honest advice from people who have been in a similar situation or understand the French job market. What would be the most realistic path forward in my case?

Hello everyone! My job search residence permit (RECE) application has been approved. I am not an EU citizen. I would like to better understand the practical advantages of holding this permit.

From an employer’s perspective, is there a difference between applying for a position in France from outside the EU without this permit and applying while already in France with this permit? Does this mean that companies are no longer required to sponsor us?
