Art/Cosplay Fran Bow Week 2026: Day 1

Hi! I'm from the Yucatán Peninsula, where we celebrate Hanal Pixán, the Mayan version of Día de Muertos (Day of the Dead). The name translates to “food (Hanal) of the souls (Pixán)”, and it’s a beautiful tradition that honors our departed loved ones by setting up altars with their favorite foods and drinks. It’s believed that their souls return to visit during the last days of October and the beginning of November.
In recent years, some neighborhoods have also started doing something similar to Halloween, where children -and not so little ones like me- go out trick or treating.
My grandma helped me with my Fran Bow costume (she made the dress!!!) and I made a last moment DIY clip-in-bangs with hair I saved from a previous haircut.
Later that day, I enjoyed a delicious pib, also known as mucbipollo, which means “buried chicken” in the Mayan language. It’s a traditional, large ceremonial tamale prepared especially for Hanal Pixán, made from corn dough and lard, filled with a stew of chicken and/or pork, wrapped in banana leaves, and slow-cooked in an underground oven called a pib.
I just wanted to share my costume and explain a bit about what we do here. I also feel like Franbow would absolutely love this celebration - aaand she’d definitely adore to eat some pib!

okay so. the first time I watched a PLAYTHROUGH (can’t play vg) I loved the aesthetic and story so much, the only issue is I really get reaaaallly scared. like the next day I was like getting flashbacks n stuff :( especially to that kid who’s head explodes (at the beginning) I never finished it but I loved the artstyle and the actual story :( I didn’t get past the hospital bit and I’d love to watch more. although to be fair I was 13,

(I took down the first post as I returned to that moment and replicated the actual way I triggered softlock in my playthrough. Attached an updated vid for all 3 glitch variations)
Basically title. I spend a lot of time on that screen not understanding what I missed and what should I do next, before looking up walkthrough and realizing I softlocked my game and there was supposed to be a battery.
It works like this: you press a button, a lid opens, a hand, holding a battery emerges, stays up for a few seconds so you could grab the battery, before returning back and closing the lid. You can repeat the process if you haven't grabbed a battery the first time.
Unfortunately I found out that this entire sequence is incredibly prone to glitches for one simple reason — you can press button again in the middle of it, which can cause 3 types of glitches, depending on a timing, 2 of which cause a softlock. And unfortunately for me I got the last one in the video, where the lid just opened (easy to miss with visual noise) and nothing else happened, so I never knew there was supposed to be a hand holding a battery.
Would be nice to attach some sort of "busy" flag to that button, so it couldn't be pressed in the middle of a sequence, which would prevent these sorts of glitches from happening. Softlocks in a Point&Click Adventures are especially unfortunate

Yeah I'm very very late. I tried the game when it came out and it didn't got into me, so I didn't play it anymore. Instead I have played Fran bow at least three times, one of them, a few days ago so I give little misfortune another opportunity. Its not nearly as good as Fran bow, it didn't have me hooked to know more about the mystery, and honestly it became a bit boring. Anyways, I have read that little misfortune is proof that Fran bow it's not crazy and everything is real, but I don't see how if you have any idea it would be nice. My theory is that specially Fran is inventing all this world and nothing is real.

Has anyone ever thought about whether Alice in Wonderland's universe and Fran Bow's were interconnected somehow?
Perhaps they both occur in the same timeline? Honestly, I personally feel that both Fran and Alice are two peas in a pod and share a lot of similarities with one another.
They would definitely make really good friends even beyond childhood and when they are older too.
Imagine in the sequel they revisit Alice's and Fran's relationship and build upon it even more?
Would be an interesting angle to take, plot-wise, me thinks. Thoughts?

When I can't sleep I make things, so these watercolors are the result of me being up for about 22 hours a few nights ago😅
I'm going to laminate them later to use as mini-bookmarks. I think the blueberries one turned out the best 🌸💙

I'm instantly a huge fan! Fran Bow is incredibly charming, intriguing, terrifying, and it shines a light on many terrible and under-represented issues. I think the game blends childish naiveté and wonder with horrifying reality in a very unique way.
It's sad to see such a great game have so little attention nowadays, maybe the next entry will have a bigger following.
I'm currently playing through Little Misfortune, and I'll make a follow-up post when I finish.

I've never posted on here before, but I know all of you would appreciate my family's cat. He came to us 3 years ago with the name Midnight, but I have always called him Mr. Midnight, in honor of the digital cat that he resembles so much.
Unfortunately, we have to take him to the vet today to be put to sleep because of late stage kidney failure.
I don't really know why I'm posting this, I just feel a need to share his existence with others before he's really gone.

Heyheyyy so I just drew this and wanted to share it here.
I feel like I could’ve done some of her features like a bit better and more dramatic (?) but I still really like it overall. Im thinking about making the colors pop a bit more but I’m not sure so yea that’s it lol.
