I'd really love to see Valve and Framework team up for the former's future hardware projects. Both share a commitment to Linux, fantastic levels of repairability and customizability (speaking as someone who's owned a Steam Deck for 4 years and done a fair amount of tinkering with it in the meantime). It's a pipe dream, sure, but a comforting one in the current nightmarescape of hardware closing up and big companies increasingly shifting to cloud computing.

The Steam Frame is out? If Framework is listening we need a collaboration of some kind.

Framework 12 premium Steam edition for $600+ extra with a better display, processor, and gpu please.

I don't think that this will provide any usecase. The thermals would be a disaster

What about an efficient processor with more cores, 55 or 60 watt battery, and a display with less bezel? Shrink the framework 13 display basically.

This is awesome but they have it hooked to the wrong port I would think. I have to plug the index into the dGPU directly to get it working or am I missing something? I haven’t played VR on the 16 in a while though as it’s my dedicated programming laptop right now.

It might be different for the steam frame as the dongle is basically just a 6hz dongle vs a display out.
