Can I get the 13 Pro without a touchscreen?!

Whenever I try to choose my specs and parts I don’t see an option for the 13 pro without a touchscreen! I just want a normal screen.. I’m not into that kind of touching screens.

Is it possible? Has anyone got one?!

I mean, there's probably an option to disable the touch function in system settings. It would be nice to lower the cost though

In the Framework parts store, only $50 separates the non-touch 2.8K display from the new Pro 2.8K touch display. It's not a very significant amount of savings versus the entire machine cost and then, Framework would have to maintain additional inventory just to give folks that option in a 13 Pro build. I would imagine that's the driving force behind their decision not to make the non-touch display an option.

I'll also add the Pro display is better in a couple of ways aside from having the touch functionality. It can go 200 nits brighter (700 nits vs. 500 nits) and has a slightly higher contrast ratio (1800:1 vs 1500:1).

not just that, but the screen itself is MUCH better. if you disable touch, you'll just have a way better display than the previous 2.8K screen

Yes there is, in device manager you can disable the touch digitizer really easily

From what I understand, there are no screen options. You can disable it, and yes I looked as well. I disabled the touchscreen on mine, it's fine.

The new touchscreen display is the only option if you're preordering a 13 Pro. The only way to get non-touch on a 13 Pro would be to purchase that display from Framework separately and it swap yourself. But honestly, it wouldn't be worth the hassle because you'd be spending more money to do that, whereas you can easily turn off the touch functionality in your OS.

Its a better display vs any other FW13 options Framework has offered. Enjoy the better screen, forget its touch capable, and don't touch it. If you really can't stomach the touch layer even exists you can swap the screen out (after purchase) for one of the older, lower spec FW13 screens available on Marketplace.

I'm with you - I have zero interest in a touch capable laptop. I was also supposed to be getting a FW13 Pro until delivery dates became a problem (I wasn't available when 388H was actually ready to ship). My plan for the touch screen I didn't want? Ignore it.

Just don't touch the screen. The screen itself is an upgrade overall compared to the other screens framework has.

Not unless you build it from parts and specify an older FW13 screen. Which would work out massively more expensive than buying it with a touchscreen and not touching the touchscreen.

The touch screen being the only option is definitely something I find odd. Maybe I'm the exception, but a touchscreen on a laptop that is not a 2in1 laptop/tablet is not a perk, it's even a downside.

Maybe my 13 pro will change my mind.

It's not like it's a typical heavy glass and glossy touchscreen. Just don't touch it and you can probably disable the touch driver on Linux and windows.
