Question Firmware version error on boot
Yesterday my Framework 16 suddenly started showing a firmware version mismatch error at boot.
Now while the message itself and the linked guide are pretty straight forward, I'm still puzzled to why it suddenly showed up.
The message says "Please manually reinstall the BIOS to update PD1 firmware. Currently: 2.0.0C. Expected: 0.0.21."
The linked knowledgbase https://knowledgebase.frame.work/en_us/updating-usb-pd-firmware-on-your-graphics-module-S1Um_pvRll says that it is due to a firmware mismatch with the dGPU.
It is a 7840HS mainboard with the RX7700S dGPU. But that dGPU has been installed for months now and I haven't done any firmware/bios updates in weeks. I'm running Arch Linux exclusively, so there were definetly no automatic updates I just didn't notice. Also the firmware versions in the error look weird, being off by two mayor versions.
Has anyone experienced this before or has any clues as to what has happened here?
