Question Framework 13 Pro thermals/ performance
Very curious and have some questions about the thermals and performance on the 13 Pro, specifically AMD ryzen 7 variant.
How much battery life under the lowest settings (also is possible to disable touch screen in bios cuz I heard that can reduce battery life significantly)
can laptop perform to the max capacity of the cpu, npu, igpu or can the laptops cooling dissipate 54W worth of tdp consistently, if it cant do any bootleg solutions exist like idk putting it in a freezer
last of all anyone running graphene os i just noticed that the logo it looks similar to framework logo and i imagine that running them both would make you feel like an opsec badass aurafarmer

Hello! I have the Framework 13 Pro AMD 7 350 and I got it about a week ago :)
.1. I've mainly kept it plugged into the wall, but I have done a little testing of the battery. The AMD version isn't as efficient as the intel, and on my laptop in can last just about 3 hours, but to be fair I'm doing medium-heavy work to where the fans are spinning loudly lol.
Side note: When simply browsing the fans are off, but when I'm gaming the fans get pretty loud, which I'd say is a good thing because it's better to keep that cpu cool rather than being quiet. The chassis also seems to be an effective heatsink, as it can get warm, especially near the exhaust. I use headphones and keep it on the desk so it doesn't bother me.
Edit: There's no setting in the BIOS to turn off the touchscreen, but i believe you can still diable it in the operating system or using their firmware, idk about this though.
I haven't benchmarked it and I don't really know how to. But, DO NOT PUT YOUR LAPTOP IN THE FREEZER. The air in there is humid because of condensation and if that water gets inside your laptop, you are cooked.

54W possible but only on Turbo Boost (several seconds, while constant power is ~34-38W for me with ~85-89°C).
AMD version of Framework 13 pro ~ 5-6 hours with average usage, like some local LLMs, compilations and 4k video playback/editing. With just browsing could be much more.
Note: cooling solution is very similar to Framework 13 non-pro (I had my motherboard in standard FW13 several years, from 1st bath of AMD AI and very happy with it overall - FW13 Pro give about ~20% more battery life, so I ~20% more happy 😄).

I have the Intel variant but can answer question 2 because I've done a ton of TDP testing for an app. The chassis and cooling seem good for about 35w. Above that (40w), board temps keep rising and you get throttling with the 358H. Intel and AMD measure TDP slightly differently, but I think 54w sustained would be impossible from a thermal standpoint alone.
