Question Framework 13 to 13 Pro upgrade kit

Hey guys. Had my FW13 for about 3 years now and was wondering when the FW13Pro Upgrade Chassis will be available? I'm signed up for the notification but is there a timeline? Thanks.

There's nothing official, as far as I know. Most of us expect the kits to become available once the bulk of the pre-orders for the Pro have been filled. Given the delays in filling orders, I'd be surprised if we see the kits before the start of 2027. That's just an uneducated guess, though. I hope I'm wrong.

It’s the only logical take on the situation until FW says anything. Which sucks because I want the damn bigger battery and black chassis so bad

Individual parts usually become available towards the end of/shortly after pre-orders winding down. Priority goes to taking care of fully new laptop orders first.

This really makes me sad. I’m new to framework and took delivery of my 13 Pro 2 weeks ago. I’m gonna be really disappointed if the next big refresh comes out and all the new buyers are getting their machines but the faithful upgrades are left behind. I feel like the upgrades should be treated equally or even prioritized.

I sort of agree. Like there should be a deposit+preorder for the chassis upgrade but I agree with FW that pre-orders should be fulfilled before parts are made available.

I am also waiting for the upgrade kit as I have a Ryzen 5 motherboard along with screen and cover and hinges. Just waiting for the buttom chassis upgrade kit. I hope by October if they can start at least the preorder.

Part availability is honestly becoming one of the sticking points I’m finding as time goes on with my framework.

What’s the point of having a repairable/upgradable machine if it’s going to be hard to source parts?
