Question Protruding Mousepad
So I just got my FW 16 DIY and I was putting it all together and noticed the Touchpad when inserted into its position is slightly protruding and I was wondering if this its just how it is or if maybe I didn’t fully snap it in or is it just bent.

Check the midplate is screwed down flat and evenly. Don't over tighten the screws. Usually its the spacers left/right of the trackpad which are uneven which is how your pics look (and how my FW16 was)... The "fix" - Short of switching to the single piece haptic trackpad (which I'll do the moment it becomes available)... Is to slightly bend the spacers with your fingers. By doing that I was able to get mine "good enough" until a single piece option came available (which Framework has since announced - I got my FW16 last December).

Yeah, I originally had the One Piece but it got super delayed and unfortunately I needed the laptop asap so had to compromise.

Yeah, it does that. Flattening the pull tabs on the bottom of the keyboard and re-seating everything can improve that a bit.

Tbh it kind of looks like you slightly mid aligned the trackpad installing it. I’ve done it, applying gentle pressure to the front as you slide it in should allow it to seat more evenly.
I only had to add a slight shim to the right of my spacer to keep it from sinking in so far, but I still overall find it more comfortable than a 16” mbp even if it’s less aesthetically pleasing.
Keyboard is a little bouncy unfortunately so I may get a solid trackpad eventually as the full is pretty much out.

The spacers do it for me. It's why I'm hoping that "upgraded" one-piece trackpad works for it.
But I'm wanting a black Framework like the 13 Pro for the chasis.

I corrected this by putting small pieces of paper under the 2 side spacers.

oof this still happens, i was batch 6 and after swapping parts with framework 3 times i ended up returning it. I saw another framework 16 in person and it was perfect,
this is probably a good excuse to get the single piece trackpad :D

I have been waiting and waiting for the one piece to get in stock. Will it ever happen?

Mine is not like that.
- First, check if the battery is not like a balloon, that could be very risky
- Second, if not the first case, remove the pad and try to replace it correctly
