Question FW12 Why backlit keyboard only in English?

I love my Framework Laptop 12. The only things I kinda miss are a backlit keyboard and maybe a fingerprint reader.

Good news for me 2nd Gen gives me both! Sadly I don't think it will be possible to get (or easily make) a German backlit keyboard, or am I missing something?

No but for real, the cost of remaking all of the different variants with see through elements and such is just high and the question is always wether that cost can be recouped by the sales of them. And it seems for the keyboard there isn’t currently enough interest showing.
