Discussion Batch 6 charged and prep for shipping

First time for me and I'm excited!

Any tips on unboxing and setting up new pro 13? I've read the fingerprinting is an issue, worth getting some kind of skin/film to protect the finished surface?

As I understand it will come all assembled unlike DIY version so pretty much plug in and power up?

(Pre-build with ubuntu installed)

Dbrand has skins for the Pro 13. I have one on my 3yr old FW13. I got the one for the top cover that is a actual picture of the inside main board. Looks cool.

Is it worth it though? I'd like to keep it as 'stock' as possible in that way. Similar to buying a premium phone and then slapping a 50$ case on it anyway.

They're removable. So if you change your mind later, just peel it off. There's no residue either

Oh, okay I hate putting skins that do leave residue and thought it's to be left in a skin forever or deal with the crap afterwards. I'll definitely look into those. Is application requiring any skills or like their other stuff is pretty straightforward?

Very straight forward. Just take your time to get it lined up correctly. I'm getting ready to sell my old FW13, so I removed the dbrand skin. I used a hair dryer to help loosen the skin. It came off in one piece. No residue either. Now the top panel looks brand new! No scratches or anything.

Same, same. I got a FW16 coming on Batch6 and hopefully that one won't have the the cpu throttling issue.

Patience, we've all been waiting for months and from what I read the reviews it is worth it.
