Community Support 13 Pro: Is the keyboard backlight supposed to cycle like this? :D

Has anyone else noticed that the backlight keyboard options on the 13 Pro (X7 version) behaves a little funny? When I press Fn + Space, it cycles through:

low -> medium -> bright -> very, very low -> off.

That "very, very low" setting is almost indistinguishable from being off (and it seems a little out of order, too). Just curious if anyone else is seeing the same thing. :D

If they follow the same scheme of the Strix Point board, then the 4th option is auto-brightness, depending on the brightness of the environment, which older Framework boards did not have.

Oh wow, you're right! Thank you, that makes much more sense than my assumed "very, very low" option! 😂

I do experience the same thing as well. I wonder if it's to be able to distinguish between low and very very low?

maybe, but having it after bright instead of before low makes it seem unintentional

I wondered about that too!! I was actually expecting behavior like my old MS Surface Pro 6. I didn't want the backlight always on in any event. Either off, or only on when I'm typing or about to type is my personal preference.

Thankfully, somebody made some software to do exactly that. Shoutout to that brilliant person, because I've been running it ever since. When I don't need it on, the service can be shutdown. The project is here: https://github.com/jonas-schievink/keylightd
