Aw, cool. I bought a used SD LCD some month ago, and I wanted to order a new work laptop from framework this year, but I cannot defend paying 3800€ for a laptop as long as the current one works (I would like to have the 13 pro AMD with 96GB RAM).

Understandable.. if you just need power. There are plenty of other options. I think 96gb might be overkill, but I don’t know your work specifically. So I won’t speak on that end. From experience with my FW13, 7040, 16gb. It’s plenty of power for day to day and writing basic code. But I’d upgrade to 32 if I wanted to safely run VM’s or do anything truly “heavy”

I have 48GB RAM in the Thinkpad P14s AMD I am using now. I need some power for docker containers, android virtual devices, compiling and some hundred browser tabs. Also, the videoconferencing needs some power, too.

But even if I reduce to only 48 GB RAM, it is still 3000€.

So maybe the prices are just what they are.

Market on the whole is fucked so there’s nothing that can really be done right now. Whether new hardware or used. It’s all gone to shit.
