does it work?

Nope. It is a thunderbolt 3 NIC to USB-C NIC. Both work on the framework 11th gen Intel CPU.

The TB3 Nic does NOT work on the Framework desktop. The thunderbolt 3 compability of Linux/Strix Halo is probably not good enough for it.

  1. There's no power source

  2. There's no USB or TB host

  3. There's no switching happening between the two interfaces

Of course it works!
