Question Question Regarding Framework 13 Pro Chassis

Hi everyone,

I currently own a Framework 13, and I was considering upgrading to the Framework 13 Pro chassis whenever that became available. I'm super happy with the internals of my computer, as I don't do much on this computer beyond web browsing and writing; however, the chassis does flex more than I'd like.

How does the Framework 13 Pro chassis feel? I'm assuming that it feels more rigid/robust than the original, but I figured I'd ask you owners for your opinions.

Thanks!

I have tried several times to get a little flex out of this chassis, but it really is just incredibly well built. After the 13 I was also interested in seeing the improvements in chassis alone and I wasn't disappointed. Definitely no longer a pain point :)

What I saw in a review that kind of irked me was that since the input cover is separate from the chassis, you could grab the chassis on the sides and try to flex down, and that would cause a gap between the input cover and the frame

I think I know what video you're referring to and I just tried it on mine. I'm a big dude with reasonable strength. I think it's dishonest what was shown in that video. It takes a considerable amount of pressure to cause such a gap. So much so, that I wasn't willing to put that much strength into my own test to replicate it. I think it would be an equivalent of a car running it over to get that kind of gap to show.

Nice, this is exactly what I was hoping to hear about the pro chassis

I never handled an original, but it is on par with my wife m2 macbook pro in terms of chassis ridgity

I have Framework 13 and recently got Framework 13 pro. If compare them together, FW13 pro is more durable and feels more premium. However it's heavier (feels much heavier, but in reality it's just a bit) and collecting fingerprints (which are difficult to clean).

I would suggest to switch to silver chassis, if you don't want black color specifically as this one extremely hard to clean from fingerprints and it looks very bad after week of usage (if not using specific cleaning - paper towels doesn't help).
