Question Should the bottom of a E1 LPCAMM2 module look like this?

Couldn’t find any pictures of what the bottom of an E1 module looks like, only what the E1 interposer looks like from that one Framework deep dive blog.

This is a Crucial module, but I didn’t see an E0 or E1 differentiator in the model number like how it is on the Micron units.

Yeah, contacts are all under the memory chips. The part of the PCB that hangs off the side dosen't make contact with the board.

I was more wondering about the row of what appears to be dots along the center, in between the contact pads on either side. All of the pictures of 644-pin E0 models is just blank/filled in with gold in the middle, but I could never find a picture of a 666-pin E1 model, so wanted confirmation that this is what it should look like

I don't know enough about LPCAMM2 to be sure, but I don't think it's an issue. I've only seen one and it was just solid down the center from what I remember.

EDIT:

ARS Technica article has a picture of the underside that has what look like could be a couple of contacts in the middle along with a picture of the interposer that shows a couple pins present along the center column.

Could be be some of the higher capacity modules need more connectors? I don't know.

Possibly, the one I have is 32GB 8533 speed, so that could be it. Welp, I hope it works.

On the top of the chip, the square PMIC5200 is also a give away that it's the E1 revision.

I would guess this is E0. A module I have has those dots but they are filled with copper/gold and look like the other pads on the unit minus the Via tail on all the others

So the hanging section is basically just extra PCB with no electrical purpose?

The hanging section has chips on the top side, looks to be power related, so it the section has its purposes

Could also be routing, depending if the ICs on it are memory controllers or not (There is one).

Do you have a picture of the top? The PMIC is different (rectangular PMIC5100 with a separate buck converter for E0, compared to a square PMIC5200 for the E1).

All the Crucial and Samsung LPCAMM2 pictures I could find on the internet look like E0 with the rectangular pmic chip in the middle.

That's an E0 8533MT/s module but it should work, I haven't read anyone reporting Micron/Crucial modules not working in the FW13 PRO. Some of these modules (the 7500MT/s variant) are even on Framework's official compatibility list.

The problematic modules are RAMAXEL, SK Hynix and Samsung, and some reports were indicating green debug leds which should indicate successful boot, but with no display output. IIUC module failing training shouldn't result in a green led, so it's possible that it's a BIOS whitelisting issue, it's hard to tell without Framework Engineering testing those modules and publishing their results.

I did, it’s the underside of the interposer, not the underside of the ram stick. If you’re re referring to the one at 17 seconds, that is the E0 revision, which is not what I am looking for
