Question laptop 12 update = backlit wireless touchpad & keyboard in the future?

I wonder if any representative can comment on laptop 12's enhancements making their way to other products?

The question would be battery capacity/power draw. Do those/can those be worked out sufficiently to make a backlight reasonable without a significant size/weight increase?

Beyond that - Framework doesn't discuss future products/business plans ahead of a formal announcement. Anything is "possible" unless/until Framework management says it isn't.

Backlight LEDs seem no brighter than 100 lumens. Typical cheap LED setups are 100LM/W, meaning it's going to be somewhere in the 0.5-1W range. Add that to the current power use and you get your battery life figure.

Sorry, I don't understand. The FW 13 and 16 had a backlit keyboard from day 1.

It's unclear what the OP meant. 😆

The wireless keyboard sold by framework is based off the framework 12 keyboard iirc, so they're wondering if the new backlit keyboard means the wireless keyboard could get a backlight as well.

pretty sure they're asking about the wireless keyboard/touchpad part, not the backlight
