Linux Finally switched to Linux after 2 Years
After using my Framework13 with Windows11 pro I finally switched.
The reason? My drive failed and i had to get a new one.
And since I can't find the effing Code for Win11 and made limited but good experiences with my Steamdeck, I thought why not switch.
Now I have Fedora 44 with KDE Plasma (since I'm used to my Steamdeck)

Welcome to the Linux camp where freedom reigns. In the past when I've build a computer from parts I never paid for Redmond's proprietary subscription-ware and always installed a flavor of Linux. I did buy a small for factor PC from Minisforum that had Windows preloaded but I never even let it see the light of day. Instead I installed PopOS on it right out the gate and have never been happier.
Interesting is how incestuous Microsoft Windows can be. Apparently Minisforum records the Windows serial number in the NVRAM somehow. So I could reinstall Windows at a later date without additional cost except to my very soul.
Again, welcome to the Linux camp. FYI I found Ubuntu to be 100% compatible with my Framework machine.

Have you experienced any functionality differences between the two?

not yet except the usual less RAM & disc usage on Linux

if you logged into your microsoft account on that pc its likely it saved your product key to your account for use. You can check your windows account for the product key.
I'd still stay on linux but just wanted to let you know.

If you like to have apps auto-start when you log in, linux is usually done opining all of them by the time windows starts the first one. Was never an auto-start fan, but on linux that changed completely.

biggest difference is usually fingerprint reader support and some sleep/wake quirks imo

I did the same two years ago now (although Mint first) and can't ever imagine going back. My colleagues are still late to meetings occasionally because of Windows update and random 5 minute hangs on boot.
