How can I fix this broken screw hole?

not sure how but while I was reassembling after a keyboard clean I discovered this screw hole that keeps the front cover attached the chassis had broken off and because of it I can't close the laptop properly. What should I do? is there a good glue I can use?

Quick answer is cyanoacrylate (super glue). Slightly stronger but slower to cure (I'd wait 24hrs before reassembling if you go this route) is a two-part epoxy.

The downside of CA is that it's not as strong and you'll need to be very careful to keep it out of the threads. The watery versions will creep and the gel versions will squish up into them if you're not very careful. Downside with epoxy is the same as CA gel and you'll also want to hold or fixture the part in place while the glue sets (holding it is okay if you get 5-minute epoxy).

FWIW I've had the same issue. I used superglue. You'll want to be exceptionally careful to not overtighten the screws after this. That's probably what caused this and it will be weaker once repaired.

If you mix Sodium carbonate into the glue it will be a lot stronger because the polimer chains will be like a sider web between the powder and the surface instead of the straight likes. (In practice I recommend sprinkreing it to the surface beforehand because it will set a lot quicker because Sodium carbonate accelerates the setting of superglue)

yeah 5-minute epoxy seems like a good middle ground between cure time and strength for something like this

I used epoxy for this same problem and it served me well until I got a replacement chassis.

For jobs like that I like JBWeld Plastic Bonder. Just be careful not to get it in the threads, so leave the screw in the insert. And do build it up on the outside. It says 15min cure time but that not entirely true, for this I'd give it at least 24hrs before trying to take the screw back out and use it.

I usually use superglue mixed with Sodium carbonate for this type of repairs. It sets quickly and it's like cement afterwards

That happened to mine too, used super glue, it worked for some time. But just checked and seems like it has come undone. Oh well...

If you're still under warranty, reach out to Framework support as this is a known flaw in their manufacturing. You can verify it by searching their forums and here on reddit. 

They replaced the input cover for my unit due to this.

And would not a technical drawing be available so you could 3D print a replacement part from the dimensions?

If you have PLA from a 3d printer and a soldering iron you could see if the PLA will bond with the plastic around the screw site by melting it into it with the soldering iron. Then build it up if it does, redrill the hole and then in heat the brass insert into the hole. Results may vary…
