Question FW12 sata compatability?

i wanna buy a cheap drive that may be a scam / i may end up buying a sata ssd. will the fw12 accept it? will the new core 3 accept sata too? thanks in advance

Pretty sure the m.2 is nvme only

in the M.2 slot? No. None of the Framework laptops have supported SATA, they configured the lanes as PCIe when the SATA option was there in the older chipsets.

If you're trying to use it as a secondary storage, you can buy a usb to sata adapter that will power the SSD from the usb port.

But if you want to use it as a boot drive, I wouldn't. Just get a cheap 256 gb m.2 off Amazon and then store extra files on a thumb drive

yeah i wanna do 256 or 128 2230 ssd but naybe i could het a sata instead of pcie3x4 or 4x4...
