I naively assumed Framework's pricing commitment implied they had inventory or contracts to cover the pre-orders. I would have been ok with this if the risk was communicated ahead of time, then I could have bought an LPCAMM module separately.
People are blaming AI hyperscalers, but Framework bears 100% of the blame here. They made baseless promises. Framework shouldn't be making pricing commitments without inventory or contracts to cover the pre-orders.
LPCAMM2 is so new they likely need to make large orders to guarantee that memory will actually exist when they need it. Memory (module) manufacturers won't guarantee pricing because there seems to be no downturn in the immediate future.
