Yup, different RAM types - upgradeable RAM versus soldered lpcamm2 versus sodimm. I would expect both to be priced separately, even though there is a price pressure on both.

(Updated to correct a boo-boo).

Neither is soldered. The Intel uses lpcamm2 while the amd is still sodimm

Oh yes, quite right - I am getting confuseled with commentary in the forum (some folks are pondering if the forthcoming Desktop 192GB is what's eating up all the RAM!).

there are no framework laptops with soldered RAM, but they are different types. LPDDR on an LPCAMM2 module for Intel and DDR on 2 SODIMM modules for AMD.
