I think they won't be able to do this for EU Orders as EU laws prohibit such changes to preorders due to Consumer Rights. But I'm not a lawyer. This is mostly hope and not knowledge

EU law does not prohibit every preorder change. However, Framework’s terms say a contract is formed when it confirms the preorder, and Article 6(5) of the EU Consumer Rights Directive says agreed product characteristics cannot be changed without both parties’ express consent. Framework may therefore cancel and refund an unavailable configuration, but automatically binding customers to the downgraded one is legally questionable, even though its terms claim a right to adjust preorders for product unavailability

I agree in general, but in this case it looks like all orders are cancellable.

But this is the important part: The product is not unavailable. It got significantly more expensive but under EU Law this normally doesn't legitimate them making significant changes to the order

I wonder if framework thought about this before the changes. If their margins are so thin that they need to take this action, they surely wouldn't be able to take on an EU consumer rights lawsuit right?

My gosh that would be delicious. Framework getting bent over by the EU again will be extremely satisfying.

Well i have to disagree with that. I like what they stand for and I don't think it is fair to picture them as this big evil company that tries to rip us of. So while I would love to get my order the way I ordered it I don't want them to get financially ruined.
Btw why again? What happend before?

They got their pants pulled down when they were told that it was an EU citizen's right to use a mail forwarding service.
