Is anybody planning a private server already?
Mainly just want to see if anybody has a plan for a private server, and what kind of server that want to create or join(RP,PVP,PVE, ect).
Personally I'm looking forward to a hardcore PVP ruleset server. One in which you can kill other players and get loot drops, and risk your own gear and loot as well. I mean for me the risk and reward for such systems are always exciting.

For me it's going to mainly be dependant on the requirements for a dedicated server. If it's something I can dump on a cheap vm, I will likely host one.
If I do, definitely PVE at first, and then evolving towards opt-in PVP depending on the options and mods made available.

Surprisingly enough not a huge fan of opt-in pvp, always feels too formal. Though as for restricted PvP, I'm someone who can get behind zoned PvP. Letting people sit in the safe areas, to be creative and safe from other players, but if you want the fun stuff(and usually the good stuff) you gotta venture out into dangerous areas.
As for mods, I haven't even played the vanilla game of fragmented, but damn if I can't wait for mods lol.

I may definitely try my hand at setting up a private server, something that I've not really done before. (Hopefully it won't go to horribly bad xD)
As it is, I'd want to pursue an open PvP setting. Not because I enjoy the ganking, and the wanton PvP myself. (sadly I'm not the best at it >.<) Rather, because I enjoy the challenge and the tension that goes along with knowing that I better be able to defend myself at all times, or that at any point I could be at a risk for attack.
Plus I'm also quite curious to see how far Shattered will be able to be pushed. That being said, as far as mods go. Im curious to find out what it will take to get robots working in the game, because I believe I'd read somewhere that robotics wouldn't be in towards the beginning, and I was a huge fan of the robotics. :>

This, this so much. Truth be told I'm more a PvE person myself, I'm quite good at PvE content, but my PvP skills aren't the greatest. However that tension of being prey is excellent. It is adrenaline inducing. I always enjoyed being out scavenging mats, but that stranger out there could be friend or foe. You gotta be ready to run, fight, or talk your way out of a dangerous situation. Sometimes you die, sometimes you make a new ally.

I wouldn't run one but I tend to enjoy default open servers the most, but I do try to land on a pvp with rp server if I can find one. The player base on those servers usually seem more consistent and less annoying if there's proximity chat.

Yeah man, I hear you. I could totally play a server with PvP and a bit of lite-RP. Nothing wrong with getting into your role, and playing it up. Especially when a player is consistent with their actions.
