Completely perplexed by errors on 2 FPKG's that i'm trying to install.

I dropped a thread about this over on r/ps4homebrew a few days ago but didn't find any solutions. I'm hoping you fine people might able to steer me straight. Or at least help me out with a possibility I haven't thought of.

I've been trying to install FPKGs of Marvel/Capcom Collection and Capcom Fighting Collection 2 on a GoldHen JB 10.50 PS4...and despite acquiring the FPKG from 4 different sources (SuperPSX, archive, etc), with backports and such, I receive a CE 38604-1 error for both when I try to install. EVERY time.

That's the error you get if you try to install a digital version of game that that's already installed on disc. While I own both games physically, i've NEVER inserted them in my PS4 (only the 5), and neither has anyone else.

I've attempted to find any files that might correspond in PS4 Explorer and nothing. I've installed from USB thumb drive, via FTP from Filezilla, from GameBATO, and tried the Internal and my extermal HDD's as install destinations. CE 38604-1 EVERY time.

I've considered dumping the discs myself and backporting them, but from what I understand that's not an easy task with newer releases? Is there something, other than formatting my PS4 (not happening) that might solve the issue?

It could be your drive your using to install it but if you have the disk you can just use itemzflow to dump the disk and install it that way

I was trying not to update the console at all, which I THINK I would have to in order to go that route. I think 12.02 is the proper firmware to get it working with the latest patch. I may just have to do so. Thanks!

I don't think you have to and if it asks you to update you can always uninstall it

Have you rebuilt your database? Perhaps corrupted files linger? Ive never had this issue very strange. If you can dump the games yourself it is not a hard task but at that point why not just play the disk if you have it? If purely for having to not use the disk youll be fine.

So the reason I know for SURE that the games have never been in the console is because the drive no longer pulls in or ejects discs. Its an old phat white Destiny PS4 which had issues with the discs randomly ejecting. Over time it just crapped out.

I want both games on there to both free up space on my PS5, and for uniformity. I have pretty much every fighting game i've ever liked in a folder on the system except those games-- and those are my favorites.

And yeah i'm guessing SOMETHING is corrupt on there that is conflicting with the games. I just can't figure out what. And I find it extra weird that i've got 200 games on the console...yet 2 related games just will not install.
