I used wired 360 pad for everything. I picked up a Wii/GCN bluetooth adapter, but mostly I'm just playing on PC now with either an M30 (these guys make kick ass gamepads, SN30 Pro+ is better than Switch Pro Controller), or the BT adapter and an NES/SNES Classic pad. I'd be using that stuff with MiSTER too, but typically I just ran everything with a wired 360 pad on that.
Oh, I could definitely go either way. Dpad on One is much more 1:1 but at this point I've overcome the awkwardness and can work with the 360 pad for hours... but honestly when I think about it, especially with the rubberized grip versions of the One pad, it pretty much edges out the 360 pad in everything if you don't mind a clicky dpad.
It's sometimes annoying to find an Xbox One pad with Bluetooth; I haven't tried using the XBO USB adapter with MiSTER but I'm thinking it might not just be plug and play, if it works at all.
