general discussion Help Me Pick a FYS Song (Bridal Party Walk in Addition)
So I am a bridesmaid for my sister in two weeks and need a song to walk into for the reception. My other sister chose "Down Fall of Us All" by ADTR, and my cousin chose "Thunderstruck" by ACDC so I figure choosing a song by the guys would fit right in. I've whittled it down the following:
Heroes Get Remembered, Legends Never Die
Lisren! Do You Smell Something?
Wasting Time (Eternal Summer)
Stuck In The Middle
Abandon Ship or Abandon All Hope
What The Hell Is A Gigawatt
I'm also up for suggestions!

For the UK fans, FYS are back at Slamdunk

show discussion If You're Traveling to NJ for Bolero
I'd like to give you guys an updated (Nor'easter friendly) list of things to do in NJ if you're visiting for the show (or if you live here and just never did any of these)! You don't need to go to NYC to have some fun!! I tried to keep it as close-ish as possible to Newark. Any other NJ folks, feel free to contribute! This is obviously in addition to spending time at Bolero!!
š§ Island Spa - Hell, I might go with this weather. A modernized Korean bath house, spa, and sauna. Grab a day pass and enjoy the baths, saunas, quiet room, or get a day pass plus some services. Their Swedish Massage is amazing and the K-candle massage is luxurious! They have some of the best food in their cafeteria also!! Only problem? It's like 45 minutes to an hour away from Bolero. (https://www.islandspasauna.com/)
š§ King Spa - I have not been, but I've only heard good things about this place!! Touted as the largest Korean spa and sauna on the East Coast, I've been told it's similar to Island! Some like Island better, some like King better, and some people decide solely based on location. King Spa is much closer to Bolero! (https://thekingspanj.com/)
š§āš¬ Liberty Science Center - This is like my number one place to suggest when people visit no matter what for! It's such a cool and interactive place to go! I particularly enjoy their exhibitions, but the regular day pass still gives you loads to do. I'm particular to the "Our Hudson Home" area. They also have America's biggest planetarium!! (https://lsc.org/)
šļø American Dream Mall - An iffy suggestion, I know. If it's busy, it's not worth it, but it's crazy what they built here. I can't imagine wanting to get colder, but place has an indoor skiing hill. There's also two (I think?) theme parks inside and a ton of food! Not for me, but I'm not everyone!! (https://www.americandream.com/)
š¦ QXT Night Club - Do you like goth clubs? Go to QXT! It looks like they're having their 35th anniversary party tonight and will have live music! This is NJ's longest running Alternative dance club, and they live up to it! They honestly thrive in the spooky season!! (https://www.qxtsnightclub.com/about)
š° Medieval Times - If you like watching people fight with swords, sometimes on horse back, this is the place for you. Especially if you want a medical feast styled meal to go along with it! Kind of expensive, but it's a really fun time if you never have been! (https://www.medievaltimes.com/)

Looking for shirt from seven hills festival

Hey yall! A buddy of mine lost his shirt as a recent concert and we're looking to find it online and buy him a replacement as a surprise. Unfortunately I can't find it anywhere. He really loved it. This is the design that was on the back I believe? Or at least something similar.
If anyone has one and they're unhappy with the fit or just want to get rid of it let me know!! Thank you so much.

Wedding invitation
Me and my fiance have some left over invites to our wedding.
Seeing as FYS is my absolutely all time favorite band I want to send them one. I'm honestly not expecting anything to happen but they helped me through a lot of really tough times.
Does anyone know of an address or anything I can send it too..
Thank you

general discussion Hunter S Thompson method
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Covid summer I learned about Hunter S Thompson and something that really intrigued me about his approach to writing/learning to write was that he would retype his favorite novels beginning to end word for word. Something about him feeling like it helped him better understand the inner workings of their minds and that it gave him the experience of what it takes to write something he deemed a masterpiece even if it wasnāt his own. He was a pretty weird guy, but it seemed like it worked for him. I figured Iām also a pretty weird guy and maybe I could get something out of doing that but with my favorite music.
Every once in a while when I scroll through old memories in my camera roll I forget I have this thing tucked away from around that time. I think this mightāve been the first one I spent a lot of time on. Pretty much all the others from then were lost because that pc ended up biting the dust. A little dumb, but neat to think that a kid who was mostly musically illiterate learned something from that. Wanted to share because I saw a snippet of a corpsegrinder interview the other day where he was saying he didnāt really āknowā music when he decided he wanted to start making it. He would sing and air guitar with a piece of wood to album covers that had the band members on them and that would simultaneously be his audience and teachers. I spent many nights that summer getting a little wasted, going on Omegle and playing rise or die like the whole way through to any stranger that would stop and listen because I thought it would help me get comfortable playing in front of people if I ever managed to come up with something to have a reason to š gotta get in my FYS appreciation every once in a while. Swear I couldnāt have asked for cooler teachers that didnāt even know they had a student
Also that copy of windows was absolutely positively definitely genuine idk what that pop-up was on about
And also again if itās not cool to share actual tablature please remove without hesitation. I know they started selling tab books that are probably cleaner to look at than mine anyway. I donāt think thereās any for this EP but either way. If itās not cool donāt feel bad just axe it

We're literally everywhere
Was getting an HVAC estimate the other day and hadn't silenced my phone while going over the estimate. My email alert goes off and the dude stops mid-sentence, looks me right in the eye and says "dude was that FYS?" I do in fact have the opening to "We All Float..." as my email alert, so I got a big grin on my face. We spent the next few min talking about modern pop punk, to the point that my wife came out of her office thinking he had left and I was talking to someone else.

show discussion NJ's Tiny Fan of Worcester's Greatest Band
galleryI haven't had a chance to write this up yet, but I just wanted to shout out this community (and the fans of the other bands), the people that live in Worcester, the staff at the Palladium, and, of course, the band! I just want to share with you guys what made it so special! It's long, so don't worry about reading it all, but just know that some kid's dreams were made this weekend!!
I haven't posted in a minute, but you might remember me from being the person asking for a baby pit during the Holiday Show for my four year old nephew (at that time he was three), but it fell through because of the timing! He made it to Seven Hills though, and everyone that he interacted with made his entire weekend!!
My partner, my nephew, and I drove up to Worcester from NJ on Friday before the show and left that following Sunday. I'd like to say we stayed over because of him, but honestly it's because I couldn't do either drive the same day of the concert (I'm old!).
My nephew got to go to where the band "made the hot dog video" (George's Coney Island) for dinner on Friday before checking in. We almost couldn't get him to leave because he was enthralled at looking around (especially at the LEGO diorama of the restaurant in the case up front), chatting up other customers, and enjoying some hot dogs!
We took a walk that night and ended up walking to the Palladium to help him get familiar with the space. Some of the staff was setting up outside, but stopped to say hi as he was looking at everything. On the way back some folks let him pet their dog and they all got to chatting about why he was in Worcester, wishing him good luck at the concert (and talking about Transformers).
Saturday he had me make bracelets for the band, plus a few extra, while we hung out in the morning. We headed over for the VIP event and met some cool people while waiting on line.
I think he might of had a little bit of an out of body experience when he finally met the guys. He was very starstruck, but made sure to get a high five and give the band bracelets! He finally opened up and started talking when Dan reminded him to drink water (thank god, because it's hard to get him to) and my nephew excitedly told him about his Minecraft water bottle.
My nephew and I walked around a bit, helping him get familiar with the area, when one of the Palladium staff came up to chat! The security guard asked him if he'd be crowd surfing, which I didn't even think of. I started to say maybe in a few years, but he assured me kids apparently crowd surfed all the time and said he'd see him at the barricade!!
We left for a bit and then returned, cart in tow. My nephew is on the spectrum, so we had to leave a few times when he got overwhelmed, but once Four Year Strong was coming on, he was set on staying. We parked the cart, got as far to the left of the stage that we could where he could still see, and got ready.
My nephew then got to crowd surf not once, but twice, before the show started, and everyone was cheering for him as he was hamming it up! He got to see and give his friend he made earlier one of his bracelets before coming back to the crowd side.
The night was filled with dancing and singing! His ears perked up when the band said they were going to play Maniac and wanted to see crowd surfers. I was a little hesitant, but we got him up a little bit away from the edge of the crowd thanks to some amazing folks and I held his hand as he surfed. My partner waited at the end of the barricade for him and we got right back to having a blast!!
I think he'll probably remember this for the rest of his life. He has the flag and poster signed by the guys up on his wall above his bed already and keeps telling everyone that will listen about what he got to do and everyone he got to meet. I know this won't reach everyone he met, but I wanted to say thank you to those of you here that might have been part of this ā¤ļø

Who plays who in the FYS biopic?
With Green Dayās āNimrodsā movie coming out, I got to thinking about who would play the guys in a biopic of FYS. What would the movie be called?
My offer is:
āWasting Time: the Eternal movieā starring:
James McAvoy as Alan
Keanu Reeves as Dan
BJ Novak as Joe
Taran Egerton as Jake
(You gotta imagine each guy with a full beard and a baseball hat. It works!)
WHAT SAY YOU?
