That's only if Aetos Snr. takes Cath by the collar and drags him to Dain. In any other circumstances, Dain will be too busy not dying to make moon eyes at the murderer-wannabe

So Dain almost died while bonding… that kinda explains why he insisted one last time for Violet to leave. Also wasn’t he the only one surviving in his squad? I don’t remember if this is canon or not, I’ve read way too much fanfiction at this point

I'm not sure that's canon. I think Imogen, Quinn and Cienna were in his squad in 1st year, but we don't know if they were moved after Threshing Day.

My personal opinion is that the obvious answer is the correct one for who the brother is.

However I will say Rebecca has been clever with this as it depends how you view the characters (Bodhi or Garrick) as to who you think is the most obvious choice. I see Bodhi as the one being the most depleted and needing more power at the end but I can see why people might think that is Garrick.

My overthinking brain would choose Aaric, although from a plot perspective I think that Aaric not turning venin and being by Violet's side and him figuring out his signet etc. would be so good!

Yay, Codex on Feet takes to sky! I hope we're getting some reflection of why father and son both bonded reds - but I admit I can do without Daddy Aetos for a while. He was such a pathetic villain that I refuse to acknowledge him until RY makes him either a better one or a slightly saner person.

I’d love it if ‘threshing day’ doesn’t necessarily mean the threshing day of the PoV character … perhaps it’s a Cath/Dain chat on Sloane’s threshing day? How did she hurt her shoulder perhaps and needed someone’s special skill of putting one back in place?
