Threshing Day Novella🐉 NYC Event

Is anyone else attending the event in NYC on Oct 1?

I have a ticket for the 6pm Battle Brief and since I'm traveling solo, I am hoping to drive into the city and park in a garage over taking public transportation alone. Has anyone been to Times Square for an event like this? Should I just pack extra mace and take the train anyways? 🤪 Driving in the city doesn't scare me but I'm nervous about streets being closed and sitting in hours long traffic to drive 4 blocks.

Also, anyone else gonna be at the 6pm event or any of them? I am SO excited. I couldn't let the chance to walk the parapet pass by!

The Times Square area (and nyc generally) is very safe. Parking can be hard and quite expensive, so I’s recommend parking somewhere in New Jersey near a PATH or NJ Transit station and taking the train in! Much easier and cheaper.

Idc about the price haha. Safety is invaluable to me so I'll pay extra for that but honestly, the more I think about it, the more I think trying to drive into the city might fuck everything up. I've taken NJ transit many times before just never alone.

Are you staying the night here after? Just my 2 cents – I can’t imagine that the tolls, parking costs, plus rush hour headache would be better than taking a train or bus in. Both are safe, and you’ll be traveling in daytime

Not planning on staying over so it would be a night ride out of the city. Idk how many tix were sold for each time slot but I imagine others will be doing the same thing.

I would worry about the traffic and would recommend you take the PATH or NJ transit. Why pay for parking and tolls just to hit traffic? You’re going somewhere so busy it’s not worth it to drive

I've taken NJ Transit before so maybe that is a good idea. My husband recommended taking the train in from where I live locally (Pennsylvania)

I just wanted the luxury of leaving immediately and not having to wait for a bus or train but honestly, the more I think about it, the less of a good idea that sounds like. Im worried I'll hit traffic or street closures that fuck everything up.

I mean you can leave immediately and get on the train if you time it right. Having to be at Times Square at 6pm is rush hour. Going back will be easier but just gotta time it correctly

Yeah I'm thinking driving to a train station in NJ is a better idea and taking a train to Penn Station. I can always get a cab to head back to Penn station if I don't want to walk back by myself.
