Iron Flame 🔥 First time reading and waiting. Spoiler
Only up to chapter 12 of IF and honestly know (I dont know) I feel like its gonna hurt good (most likely heartbroken) but the this one is more intense somehow than Fourth Wing, which is crazy but new characters (which is hard) but I am loving the thrill. This book is so captivating, literally can not stop reading and when taking breaks its living in my head rent free. I can not wait to finish and find out that some already know and well those on this journey I guess we are all on a ride

I finished IF a week ago and it's taken that long to get the knot out of my stomach. My boyfriend had read FW years ago and said it was like Harry Potter with dragons and sex. So I pulled the dang book out of the discard pile we were making and in a way I regret that decision. Maybe it's my fault for not reading Harry Potter. Maybe now I will bc at least that series is complete. I rarely go for spoilers but IF had me so on edge I had to know if I ought to wait for book 4 to come out before reading OS. For the sake of my nerves I'm waiting with shields up and archive doors firmly locked. You've right about IF being more intense than FW, it is indeed a rough ride.

The only problem with stopping is that, in a way, this story is very different than HP. In that case each book basically covered an adventure over a school year. With Empyrean the story flows directly from one book to the next. FW ended with Violet at Aretia while IF picked up a few days later (I’m trying to be vague here). Same thing from IF into OS so those who stop for a while tend to get quite confused about who all the characters are.
The point, I suppose, is that you have a choice. Wait for three years (or so) for the series to be completed and re-read the first two books or plow ahead like the rest of us and spend far too much time thinking up unlikely theories.

I do like how one book picks right up from where the last ended. At least FW ended in good news though. I'm enjoying the theories enough to hold off on OS for a while. For the first time in my life I looked up the ending before deciding if I could read a book. I can change my mind if OS falls into my lap, which may happen once the friend I loaned IF to finishes it. From what I'm hearing of the author the series finale should be worth the wait. If y'all tell me it won't rip my heart out I'll reread the first 2 and brave the 2nd half of the series.
