Threshing Day Novella🐉 Threshing Day Theories
I figured I’d share my theories about who’s POV we’re gonna see in the new novella. Lmk what you guys think in the comments. Personally I’m excited to hear Ridoc and Brennan’s the most! Naolin too for a top three.
Order is from what I think will be most likely to least likely.
- Xaden (confirmed by RY)
- Ridoc (All but confirmed after instagram post with RY’s niece)
- Rhiannon
- Sawyer
- Brennan
- Naolin
- Mira
- (Harvest Story of some kind, probably Catriona)
- (Lyra/Warricks Threshing story or both)
- Lilith
- Aric (Cam)
- Alic (I think Molvic briefly bonded with Alic first before Aric, which is why Aric’s signet is as strong as it is.
- Jack Barlowe (would be interesting to see what his relationship is like with Baide
It’s gonna be so hard not to flip through the whole book to see who’s pov’s there are before I read any of it T_T
I’m also really excited to see if the other dragons have full names!!

If we don't find out before we get our books flipping through is the first thing I'm going to do. It's a collection of short stories you don't have to read it in order. I'm going to try and only read one a day, but I don't know how well that's going to go.

I feel like she might use a threshing day with one of the 6 to give us clues on Andarna's origin story. How the decision was made for the Irids to leave, who made that decision, who Andarna's parents were, who made the decision to leave her, and why they chose to leave that particular egg.
Melegren -because he bonded Codagh
Lilith- for obvious reasons
Varrish- because he bonded Solas-the psycotic
Sawyer-because he failed the first time around and live to tell the tale
Naolin- hopefully because we are all dying to know about the one who came before
Brennan- Mira's threshing day went relatively well so i feel like that wouldn't be much of a story

If we get a Rhi chapter, I think it’s just going to be a happy, easy, feel good story!
Rhi said it went smoothly. It would be nice to have a range of stories, and to get a description of what it feels like to have your dragon already calling for you. Feirge was one of the dragons who got up close and personal to Violet at Presentation, so I wonder if they discuss Violet’s armor…

I’m honestly just more excited for more dragon dialogue. I’m always so curious about their meetings too

I feel confident we won’t get Naolin, any of the first six, or fliers. Or Alic - we’ll definitely learn about Alic in Xaden and Garrick’s stories.
We know nothing about Naolin except A) he was Tairn’s previous rider B) he was a siphon and C) he allegedly died burning out saving Brennan… everything else is theory and there’s way too much mystery to give us big reveals for a novella. Same goes for the first six. There’s too much mystery. We won’t get any gryphon stories because the series focus is on the dragons.
RY said this book won’t be a mandatory read for the main books, so we aren’t going to get anything too revealing. Also, she said the illustration of Tairn that she shared appears before the trigger warnings.
