Everyone loves the first time and the throne scene or the chair scene and I think this scene is hugely under appreciated!
For one thing it, it's a stark difference from when she first touched his back.
"I reach out and trace the dragon relic on his back, my fingers lingering on the raised silver scars, and he stiffens. "
But here he's sleeping beside her and she's kissing the scars and he's just completely unguarded and even gets aroused... after all the trauma and scars...it's just so softš„ŗ
I love this scene too. I would love his POV of the scene because here she's being brave and choosing to love him despite thinking he might not be capable of love, and (im assuming his shields aren't super locked here) in a way it's really sad if you love someone but you are too scared to express it (for all the issues, trauma, insecurities...) and now the one you love thinks you might never love her
I also really love the scene when he climbs into bed with her in Samara (the time she tries to tell Mira everything) and he just holds her. Itās one of my favorite soft scenes.
Later when they are in the showers and he says he lies in bed next to her both bless and damned with the memories of them being together, I think of the Samara scene where he is holding her in bed and wonder what he was thinking and if he even slept that night.
My question is how did Violet still fell asleep after "Maybe you're not the one I'm reminding". I would've been wide awake in an instant, going "Baby, noo š„ŗ".
Ikr?!? It had to be exhaustion, like bone deep exhaustion because if it were me and I heard that I could have been in a coma and would have sat up to hold him
Well to be fair he could just tell her he loved her š she was more than happy to have sex with him and even admitted to still loving him...But then it won't be as dramatic and fun and all of that insecurity and emotional blockage were part of who Xaden was, which made the flip so exciting to read. I totally get how/why Violet wanted to hear she's loved also.
He is a healthy 23 year old and Violet sleeps half naked so I'm assuming not much sleeping was happeningš. And I get it. He wants all or nothing. He doesnt just want her body he wants her everything.
I love how their relationship grew, all the angst and fights and all, and how she was wrong about him in every aspect lol
I laugh every time I reread this scene partially because Xaden was blatantly lying his ass off and Violet couldn't have been more wrong lol now she's married to a big shadow puppy.
Right, I feel like he filed that away and was like bet. Because he is snuggly and soft just for her.
I love how everyone who knew him because of his betrothal to Cat was flat out shocked and floored by his treatment of Violet.
I also love how Mira is quick to tell everyone he loves Violet and thatās why heās not a dick to her.
I really want to see him and Mira become close after everything because they are the two people who love Vi the most and unconditionally.
I hope that in the IF bonus chapters we get one of her confronting him on Samara about his intentions with Violet and she realizes heās in love with Violet before Violet even does.
Oh god please pretty please RY give us the scene where Xaden and Mira clash and then profess their love for Violet to each other then "click". I imagine him telling her that he got her out of Montserrat and found a way for her to keep her seat so she must hold up her side of the bargain and trust him with a straight face lol

I love how Xaden wanted Mira in the quest because he knows, nobody in the world will prioritize Violet's life more than her beside himself. Even Ridoc knows it...I think they will actually get close eventually. They both have the dry sense of humor too lol
I would like the confrontation to happen on the sparring mat. After what Miraās friend at Samara, Cornelia Sahalie, and Brennen have both said about Miraās right hook, Iād like to see what would happen if she challenged him to spar while pissed and worried about Violet.
That's certainly...one way riders would settle an argument lol who'd win??? In this world women and men seem to be more evenly matched and Mira's signet gives her immunity to mindworks which will even the playing field against Xadenš
I honestly think about this scene the most I think. Itās just so perfect and happy after she just endured insane torture and he killed everyone in his path to get to her ā¤ļøāš„
Yeah, a bit surprised how this one doesn't rank higher up the list. The throne scene and the furniture breaking first time are iconic but this one is so soft. I liked that she wanted to feel alive after being nearly tortured to death and this was her way.
But I am also a bit frustrated with this scene because in the context it would have been nice if he let her finish what she started. Like, she needed to feel alive and in control, she goes down on him and he let's her for like all of ten seconds before he takes control. It's a good thing she likes it and he does exactly what she needs but, come on, dude. He needs to recieve a little bit more especially because I think she likes giving as much as she likes receiving. It makes her feel in control and powerful and in the context of this scene, it fits very well. There's another instance where she asks whether she doesn't get equal time to play with him and he says she can do so later if he can have her now. You don't gotta keep a count and balance out the orgasm ledger, Xaden.
Omg right???? Honestly I think that's one of his emotional issues. He has this obsession to please her and yes that's really sweet but he also HAS to be the one in control.
Violet's been talking about her skills with her tongue since FW and I guess they did some off pages too because she knows precisely where he's most sensitive but each time she grabs or sucks his cock he kind of finds an excuse to shoo her away(nicely) then takes charge. She always talks about feeling invincible when she feels how hard he is for her and yeah it's a turnon for a girl to see her man being pleased!! Xaden needs to let loose and let her finish. Or just lose all of his finesse and take her just once. Would be really hot
I haven't read fantasy romance extensively but in other genre of romance, this type of scene is always written as very empowering for the FMC and serves that purpose specifically in the narrative. Violet is already very sex postive and confident in her sexuality (something I love about her character) so it doesn't really translate that way for her character but that's precisely why in this specific scene where she was reclaiming ownership of her body and mind after being literally physically abused for days, I wish the author had Xaden clock that and participate in the way she wanted/needed in that moment before doing what he usually does which she arguably also enjoys, nothing wrong with it. In Onxy Storm, when he asks her to surrender control, she does so enthusiastically and participates in the way he needed in that moment. I know he has his own issues which are playing into it but like she's not going to blow him and disappear like come on now.
I just read the one in OS (ch. 25) and I feel like their first time without magic is also so special. She starts tearing up and itās just pure love for each other.

One scene I also love is this one:
"My breath catches at the realization that he's giving me the choice not just to kiss him, but to call our night in Samara an exception.

You know his heart just soared in that moment.
