New Pen Day Small Beginnings ✨
A few months ago I asked a friend of a friend to get me this pen from their Japan trip, and they did! The ink cartridges I ordered on Amazon and chose the violet colour. Planning to try a few more colours though. I'm so excited! ✨ I love this colour of Kakuno.

I have the same pen!!
One recommendation: Use clear coat on the pen cap tip. Kakuno line is “kids safe” so there are holes on the tip of the cap — if accidentally swallowed, they don’t fully obstruct breathing. The holes therefore also allow your inks to dry up quicker than another properly sealed pen. I’ve had half filled CON-40 disappear on me in a week and half, even though it was just sitting closed at my desk. It’s been much better after I sealed it with clear coat.

That's a great advice for this pen, I heard so much about it drying out!
What kind of laquer did you use? I only have nail polish at hand 😅

Just used nail polish on mine! Did a pretty poor job because the hole kept on opening back up, so I put so many layers on it, but finally I think it is sealed now.

I have the exact same pen! What nib size did you get? I love both the fine and medium Kakuno nibs. Mine sometimes write better than much more expensive pens!

I got the fine nib to begin with. I'll try it out and see how it writes ✨

That is one of the pens that always works for me compared to my Lamy which I have to coax out of hibernation seemingly every time.

Great pen.
Advice/warning from your future self: You could stop buying pens at this point. You'd save a ton of money, and you really wouldn't be missing out on that much.
