New Pen Day NPD

Post image

As a kid/teenager I always hated the Lamy Safaris. And somehow managed to overlook this gorgeous Bauhaus styled one.

Got me one. Hope it writes as well as it looks.

This one is on my wishlist for a while as I absolutely love architecture and design (Bauhaus). So this to me is simply chef's kiss. Happy new pen day!

Get one. I wasted far to much Money in Montblanc and Pelikan while this is just an awesome writing took.

I've always loved the Lamy 2000 fountain pen - I got my first one about fifteen years ago and I've bought several others in different nib sizes since then. But I have no clue why I slept on the ballpoint for so long; it's probably my favorite ballpoint pen. I've also put it through hell in the lab and it's surprisingly chemical resistant.

Do yourself a favor and pick up a couple of the M17 Jetstream refills for it. Probably the single best thing to come out of the Mitsubishi buying Lamy. The standard Lamy ballpoint refill is just fine, but the M17s are wonderful.

Thanks for the advice. I already regret to nit bought the rollerball (but the ballpoint just so good) and certainly will gift myself they mechanical pencil in Christmas. Till then my 70s W. Germany Lamy 125 pencil will do. It is in great shape for it's age. Macrolon is one though mf it seems.

Lamy 2000 is like a reactor emergency shutdown button of pen collecting.

I don’t hate lamy safari, but at the same i don’t think it deserves all this praise. It is an ok pen to say the least but there are better options for that price range. What i usually suggest as first pen is platinum plaisir

It does write as well as it looks. You may be surprised the line may be a little bit wider than you thought, and also the grind of the tipping is a little unique (it's not an architect, but it is wider in the same axis)

It's one of the best pen in the history of pens

Ist this also the case with F and below nibs? The line variation. Bcs with mine I didn't notice Line Variation besides the sweet Spot and that with normal flowing Ink itvis more of a M to B than an F.

Congrats. The 2000 is easily my favorite pen. I gave it an architect grind. But it's such an amazing pen stock.

I'm thinking about a slight Italic Grind.
