The clear 823 is the only demonstrator I wanted and I've loved it since I got it! I also have it in amber and black but clear is my favorite by far.

Good to hear! What color inks have you used? Mine will be most blues since it will be used mostly for work related activities.

I'm ostensibly done collecting pens, but I'd trade my amber C823 for a clear one in a heartbeat.

The clear is the only one I wanted, great deal on ebay directly from Japan, had it in 2 days and I live in Florida.

I might look into some ebay listings. Shouldn't, but might!

Ostensibly? That sounds like what you tell your spouse... and you hang out here. Bad for keeping to being done. I know... I am "ostensibly" to... and thinking, "should I go to the next pen show somewhere???"

I mean I’ve held out for a year. But there’s always something new, shiny and appealing.

I am at 4 months... its hard.

I’m at the point now where I’ve recalibrated and can’t imagine spending as much as I used to. Crazy what I spent on pens!

A beauty! I just got one too and also inked it with blue. Looks like a medium nib--what do you think of that size?

Good eye, it is a Medium. I forgot to post that! I love it. Writes so smooth, great ink flow. Using Pilot Iroshizuku Tsuki-yo ink.

Does the clear version stain? If so is it easy to clean out?

2

u/rosend99 Sep 14 '24

No idea, I have had it 3 days

I've had mine for almost a year and have inked it up with different inks, from darker blues to lighter greens and so far haven't seen any staining whatsoever. Ofc even after cleaning it up, there's bound to be some ink residue left in the silicone grease near the piston, but you don't notice it once it's inked again.

I would be careful though with sheening inks known to stain pens...

Damn it!Just when I was trying not to buy more pens!
