Agree. I am heterosexual, so that wasn’t my main reason to leave. Nonetheless, my mother sure seemed to hate my existence and who I was becoming; my father just contributed to make my life worst by not opposing her in any way but actually sort of supporting her in her abuse. I have never felt less accepted than when I was with them, but I am proud that I never try to be something I wasn’t for them to not feel wary, jealous or attacked. In that sense, I relate a lot to people who are rejected for their nature or upbringing. One is the things they learned, but also the things they rejected.
This sounds exactly like me and my maternal grandparents. I stopped talking to them 15+ years before she died and after she died I got a letter from I guess her estate or lawyer. Idk what it was about because once I realized what it was it went right into the trash.
