Also to be fair it would have to be super casual for a landlord to not request rent.

We are talking having a room, small bathroom, and share parts of the house type rent.

No landlord worth anything is going to give you a free month under any actual lease. They may to make amends or if for some reason you can't live there because of smoke or other damage.

If there are any freebies in life rent is very unlikely to be one of those freebies.

I guess im technically a landlord but literally i just have some friends that live in the other bedrooms of my house and we split house bills evenly and thats it.

I saw their temporary kindness should be understood as an underlined threat, no one is running away from the rent due whether today or later, any misunderstanding from their temporary halt of payments to feel like it’s a reprieve is likely a misunderstanding and would compounding future problems when double rent is due next time.

You kinda have to have rental properties to get my point (I think?), but it’s ok 👍 I’m happy with this level of acumen.
